Opioid overdoses can happen to anyone, anywhere and having Narcan readily available can mean the difference between life and death. Narcan is safe, easy to use, and can temporarily reverse the effects of an opioid overdose while emergency help is on the way.

The Christian County Health Department provides FREE Narcan 24/7 through our harm reduction vending machine and the outdoor distribution box located on the west side of our building.

You don't have to know someone struggling with substance use to carry Narcan. Just like CPR or an AED, it's a tool that can help save a life in an emergency.

Be prepared. Be informed. Be the reason someone gets a second chance.

Breathe Easier, Christian County!

The Smoke-Free Illinois Act helps protect workers, families, and communities from the harmful effects of secondhand smoke by creating healthier indoor public spaces and workplaces for everyone.

Smoke-free environments improve air quality, reduce exposure to secondhand smoke, and help support healthier communities across Illinois.

If you're thinking about quitting to***co or ni****ne products, free resources and support are available to help you take the next step toward better health, https://quityes.org/

If you observe a potential Smoke-Free Illinois Act violation, please contact the Christian County Health Department or submit a complaint online at: https://www.smoke-free.illinois.gov/complaints.htm

Together, we can help keep our community healthy, safe, and smoke-free.

Not all superheroes wear capes, some wear coveralls and rubber boots.

Our Environmental Health team is hitting the road to collect mosquitoes and drag for ticks as part of our summer surveillance efforts. The information they gather helps us monitor potential disease risks and keep our community informed and protected.

It's not the most glamorous job, but somebody has to chase the mosquitoes and ticks before they chase you!
