A Farewell to Captain Nick Hackney
Our last shift with Captain Nick Hackney has come to a close, marking the end of an extraordinary chapter for our department. For over 20 years, Nick has been a devoted, highly skilled, and irreplaceable member of our team.
Throughout his distinguished career, Captain Hackney made it his mission to master some of the most high-risk, low-frequency emergencies we face. His dedication to specialized training and operational readiness has elevated our department and enhanced the safety of both our personnel and our community.

Nick’s commitment to excellence, passion for the job, and ability to lead in the most challenging situations have left a lasting legacy. His departure leaves big boots to fill, and while we will deeply miss his presence, we are incredibly grateful for everything he has poured into this department.
