Claiborne County Family Justice Center One step toward safety. One place for support.

Every minute, 24 people in the U.S. are hurt by an intimate partner—pause and let that sink in. 🕒

Domestic violence isn’t “just a private issue.” It can lead to injuries, long-term trauma, and even death, touching everyone from survivors to kids, coworkers, and communities.

And it carries a huge financial toll too—medical care, lost work time, housing moves, legal costs, and ongoing support that survivors often have to piece together while trying to stay safe.

If you could change one thing in your community to make it easier for someone to get help sooner, what would it be? 💜🗣️

You deserve consistency, safety, respect, and genuine care—not kindness that appears only between painful moments. 🤍

If you’ve ever thought “It’s not abuse because they didn’t hit me,” please read this. 🛑

Abuse isn’t just physical. It can look like constant put-downs, controlling your money, pressuring or forcing s*x, isolating you from friends, or using religion/spirituality to shame and control.

And it often follows a pattern that keeps people stuck—calm, tension building, an incident, then apologies or “love-bombing”… until it happens again. That cycle is designed to maintain power, not create change.

You don’t have to sort this out alone. Advocates, domestic violence agencies, and Family Justice Centers can help you safety plan and understand your options—including legal support. 💜

Have you ever noticed how control can hide behind “concern” or “love”? Share what you wish more people understood (or share this to help someone who needs it). 🧩

If you’ve ever thought, “Wait… is this abuse?” this one visual can make everything click. 🧩

Many survivors say the first time they saw the Power and Control Wheel, their experience finally had a name—and a pattern. It lays out common tactics abusers use (like isolation, intimidation, emotional abuse, and controlling money), showing that harm isn’t only physical.

This guide also shares how different versions of the Wheel have been created for different communities and situations, helping more people recognize what’s happening and realize they’re not alone. 💜

What’s one sign you wish more people understood can be part of abuse? Comment below or share this with someone who might need it. 🗣️

What an incredible milestone! We're beaming with pride as we celebrate 5 extraordinary years of empowering domestic violence survivors in Claiborne and surrounding counties. We're humbled to be part of this life-changing journey, surrounded by an amazing team, dedicated partners, and loyal supporters. Our hearts are full of gratitude for the love, friendship, and inspiration that filled the room. A special thank you to our courageous speaker and survivor, Taylor Ramsey, who embodies resilience and strength. We're in awe of your accomplishments and can't wait to see the amazing things to come! We're also grateful to Congressman Tim Burchett for joining us and speaking about his love for Claiborne County and his support for victim services. Although we couldn't capture every moment (the room was overflowing due to the rain!), we're thrilled to share these unforgettable memories. 🎉💕

💜The Body Keeps the Score💜

Are you ready to anonymously share your survivor story and get it out of your system? When we suppress feelings and carry them around for so long, they become burdensome for the mind, body, and spirit.

There is freedom in sharing the traumatic things we've experienced, such as domestic and s*xual violence. And in doing so, you very well may be providing a glimmer of hope for those suffering and see no way out.

The FJC would be honored to share your story and all identifying information will be private and confidential. You are safe and supported here. 💜
