Tennessee junior and senior high school students are invited to apply for the 2027 United States Senate Youth Program (USSYP). Through this program, two Tennessee students will be selected as delegates to participate in USSYP Washington Week, scheduled for March 6-13, 2027. Selected delegates will also receive a $12,500 undergraduate scholarship from The Hearst Foundations.

Claiborne County Schools would like to extend a very special thank you to Sandra Academy of Salon Services in Tazewell, Tennessee, for their incredibly generous support of the Cosmetology programs at Cumberland Gap High School and Claiborne High School.

Through their generous donation of cosmetology supplies and monetary support, Sandra Academy is helping provide our students with the tools, resources, and opportunities they need to grow their skills and prepare for the upcoming SkillsUSA Competition in Knoxville, Tennessee.

We are incredibly grateful for local businesses and community partners who believe in our students, support career and technical education, and invest in the future of Claiborne County.

📢 Great news for Claiborne County families!

All Claiborne County Schools students will receive FREE breakfast and lunch every school day during the 2026-2027 school year. We are excited to help ensure every student has access to nutritious meals that support learning and success.

As we welcome students back to school tomorrow, Friday, August 7, Claiborne County Schools asks everyone to help keep our children safe.

Please be extra alert in school zones and at bus stops. Slow down, stay focused, and watch carefully for students walking to and from home and bus stops.

🚌 Remember: When a school bus has its stop sign extended and its red lights flashing, you are required to stop while students are loading or unloading. Those few moments could save a child’s life.

Thank you for doing your part to help make the first day of school a safe one for every student, family, and school employee.
