On Friday July 7, at 1930, we were dispatched to an electrical fire on Third Av. Tower 1 responded with the chief of department. Upon arrival, an odor of smoldering material was noticed upon arrival and burning wires could be smelt. The burning wires were found to be in the electrical panel and material burning was from a burning incinerator in the exterior of the building. The power was cut to the building and cleared with no active fire or smell after around 1.5 hours. Multiple hot spots were checked throughout the building and cleared. Units were cleared around 2100.

On Monday May 29th at around 1230, the chief of department noticed smoke on the exterior of Old Town Grill restaurant. Pulling into the parking lot, he found a row of bushes on fire extending into the lower awning of the building. The Chief requested a tone for a fire on the exterior of the building and used two 10 lb extinguishers to knock down the fire until Engine 1 arrived to suppress the fire. Smoke had entered the attic area and was venting from multiple areas. The department chief returned to the fire house to grab Tower 1 to assist Engine 1 on scene. The aerial was used to check the roof area for extension of fire but nothing was found and firefighters cleared the interior area. No injuries reported at the time of the fire and units cleared around 1315.

On Friday May 26th, North Claiborne FD and Harrogate FD at around 1130 was dispatched to Wheeler Road for an mva with a car on its top and possible entrapment. We were requested to respond as another mutual aid department. The Chief officer responded with Truck 1 to the scene. Approaching the scene, Harrogate FD had just arrived and found multiple patients in the vehicle. Fire and EMS personnel began to remove patients from the wreck to be transported to an area hospital for treatment. One patient was fatally injured in the rollover. Units stood by for THP to investigate the accident before anything was done. After the investigation was completed, units from our station, Harrogate FD, North Claiborne FD, and Cumberland Gap FD began to stabilize the vehicle in order to extricate and remove the person. After around 40 minutes, the subject was removed from the wreckage. The person involved had been a member of multiple departments in our county including ours and took a leave of absence. We ask if you know the name, don't post it here or pictures of the accident. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family. R.I.P Brother

On Wednesday May 24th, at around 0930, we were dispatched to WSCC for an odor of something burning on the 3rd floor. E1, E15, and Tower 1 took the assignment and upon arrival found nothing showing from the exterior. Officers and workers advised that everyone was out and the gas had been shut off to that area on the 3rd floor. With two chief officers on scene and two firefighters, one chief officer and the two firefighters entered the building and used the elevator to access the 3rd floor and search for the odor. While searching the 3rd floor, no smoke was found but an odor of something burnt was noticed. Units went to the roof and found no issues with HVAC units or anything else. The odor began to disapate after a short time. The school maintenance was contacted and came to work to locate the problem. After clearing all 3 floors and resetting the alarm system, the staff was given the all clear to resume class. Units cleared around 1030. No injuries reported at the time of the incident.

On Thursday May 18th, at around 2130, we were dispatched to provide mutual aid to Springdale FD for a house fire. Our Assistant Chief arrived in his truck reporting smoke coming from the structure. Upon arrival of Springdale FD, units deployed an attack line and entered the structure to extinguish the fire. Firefighters encountered low visibility in the first stages of the fire. Our chief was ordered to vertical vent the building in order to ventilate the structure to help Firefighters inside. Once Firefighters got the structure ventilated, this improved the visibility for members inside. The fire was initially contained in two compartments. Thorn Hill FD, South Claiborne FD also assisted on the scene. We went in service around 2245.
