The purpose of the Tazewell County Economic Development Department and the Industrial Development Authority (IDA) is to promote industry and develop trade by inducing manufacturing, industrial, governmental, commercial, and other enterprises to locate, remain, and expand in Tazewell County for the benefit of citizens in the form of employment opportunities and economic growth. The IDA is authorized to acquire, own, lease, and dispose of properties to the end that such activities may promote industry and develop trade by inducing enterprises to locate, remain, and expand in Tazewell County.
