Had a report today that someone was impersonating me to try and convince someone to pay their "bond" or "fine" or they would be arrested. Just a few points:
1. If you have any warrant, we probably aren't going to call you and let you know.
2. I promise you, Freestone County is not advanced enough to accept payment for anything in bitcoin or any other crypto currency. Hell, my office can't even accept credit or debit cards.
3. If an official document has an e signature, it will be marked as such. (My hand writing is definitely not as nice as the one on that "order")

If you recieve a suspicious phone call, feel free to hang up and contact the Freestone County Dispatch directly at 903-389-3236 option #2 and they will confirm if who called you is a real officer, deputy or Constable in Freestone. If one of us is trying to get a hold of you, they will confirm it's us, and we will call you back.

You can also contact my office directly at 254-739-2518 or swing by and visit at 800 Main Street in Teague. Our office is not currently open 24 hours a day, but we do have a voicemail you can leave messages at if I'm not there.

164 in Donie is currently closed and a significant amount of residents are experiencing a power outage. This was caused by a grain truck that caught onto a main power line and broke at least 1 power pole and 3 power lines. At this time there is no estimate on when power will be restored.

A lot of good people showed up today at the County courthouse to voice their questions and concerns about the CyrusOne data center construction here in Freestone County. Representatives from the company did a small presentation and spent about 3 hours speaking with people and answering all kinds of questions. There were many questions asked and I'm glad they were brought forth. I sure learned a lot as well!

I encourage everyone, if possible, to become involved in our local community and make your voice heard. Regardless of your stance or opinion.

Some points brought up:
1. Each building will use a closed loop cooling system that will use 40,000 gallons of imported water from areas with a water surplus. Not local water resources.
2. There will be wells used on the property, but only for restrooms, water fountains and landscaping needs, totaling about 1,100 gallons per day.
3. In the abatement, a sound max of 60 dB during the day and 55 dB at night is required. 60 dB is about the level of a loud room of people talking. That level is measured at the property line and dissipates with additional distance.
4. The project should create approximately 160 permanent jobs in Freestone County and they will be working with TSTC and other schools to train and offer apprenticeship positions to locals.
5. They will be using power from the power plant directly that they are helping pay for, not the grid directly. However any extra power generated will be put back into the grid.

I will be following this project more closely to see how it develops and how it may benefit or otherwise affect Freestone and will try to post updates as well.

Im truly blessed to work in an office with such nice people. The clerks for JP2 and JP4 along with our excellent local VA service officer thought enough of me to cook me a hamburger lunch for my birthday. Right at the office no less!
