This week, we had the privilege of hosting a special Member Appreciation Dinner at Sheinkin, bringing together our dedicated Chaverim members, sister organizations, and friends from across the region for an evening of appreciation, camaraderie, and celebration.

Joining us were our partners from Rockland, Brooklyn and Orange County, along with Shomrim organizations from across the New York area, including Queens, Manhattan, Rockaway, Nassau, Flatbush, Boro Park, Williamsburg, Crown Heights, Staten Island and beyond. It was truly special to have so many organizations who share the same commitment to serving and protecting our communities under one roof.

We were also honored to hear from Bergen County Sheriff Anthony Curenton, who joined us and shared words of appreciation for the volunteers who dedicate their time to helping others. We also are grateful to Mayor Mark Schwartz for his kind words and support.

Most importantly, the evening was about recognizing our Chaverim members and their wives — the volunteers who answer calls late at night, in the middle of the day, in the heat, in the cold, and in all kinds of weather. Whenever a member of our community needs help, they know that someone is ready to respond.

Their dedication, selflessness, and willingness to always be there for others is what makes Chaverim so special.

Thank you to every member who gives of their time and puts service before themselves. This night was for you.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Chief Andrew R. McGurr for his many years of dedicated service to the Township of Teaneck and its residents.

We are grateful for Chief McGurr’s commitment to public safety and for the strong partnership and friendship he has shared with Chaverim of Bergen County over the years. As he begins his retirement, we thank him for his service to our community and wish him a well-deserved retirement filled with happiness and fulfillment.

At the same time, we are pleased to welcome Chief Seth B. Kriegel as he begins his new role as Chief of Police of the Township of Teaneck.

Having worked alongside Chief Kriegel over the years, we greatly value the relationship we have built and look forward to continuing and strengthening that partnership in his new role. We wish him much success as he takes on this important responsibility and continues working to keep the Teaneck community safe.

We participated in a ribbon cutting alongside , , Rockland, County, , park, unveiling a new garage, filled with all the neccesary equipment to respond to their community in their times of need.

We wish them the best of success with their new response capabilities.

What an incredible day for our community!

Chaverim of Bergen County Safety Day brought together families, volunteers, first responders, local businesses, and community organizations for a day focused on safety, family, and fun.

This event is part of our ongoing initiative to make our community a safer, better place to live.

Throughout the day, families were able to have their vehicles checked and make sure their children's car seats were installed correctly.

We also distributed a variety of safety-focused items, including reflectors, “Never Leave Your Child in the Car” reminders, window tags reminding drivers to check their backseats, and other safety materials designed to provide simple reminders that can make a real difference and save a life.

And of course, there was plenty of fun along the way—from face painting, games, petting zoo, and horse rides to inflatables, music, food, ices, and so much more.

Yesterday, we were honored to assist with security and crowd control throughout the Yahrtzeit of Rabbi Yoel Teitelbaum ztl, the Founder of the Satmar dynasty, at the Ohel.

With tens of thousands of people visiting throughout the day, our members worked side by side with the Event Safety Squad to help ensure the event remained safe, organized, and running smoothly.

We extend our sincere thanks to the Event Safety Squad for their exceptional professionalism and expertise, and we are proud to be there for meaningful community events where our assistance can help make a difference.

Thank you to everyone who worked together to make the day a safe and successful one.

A coordinated search effort came together after a vulnerable 52-year-old woman was reported missing along the Palisades Parkway.

Upon receiving the call, our search supervisors and volunteer members mobilized within minutes, deploying search teams to assist alongside the , , Town of Ramapo Police Department and Chaverim of Rockland.

We are relieved and grateful to report that the missing woman was located safely.

Searches like these highlight the importance of rapid coordination and strong partnerships between agencies, all working toward one shared goal: bringing someone home safely.

We extend our sincere thanks to the Palisades Parkway Police, Rockland Hatzolah, Ramapo Police Department, and Rockland Chaverim, who deployed their expert SAR teams. Thank you all for your professionalism, dedication, and exceptional teamwork throughout this search. It was an honor to stand alongside each of you in achieving a successful outcome.

We were honored to assist with security and crowd control during the Hachnosas Sefer Torah at Anshei Lubavitch in Fair Lawn, celebrating the joyous welcoming of a new Torah into the community.

We extend our sincere thanks to the Fair Lawn Police Department for their outstanding professionalism, partnership, and dedication throughout the event. We are also grateful to Andy Schultz, Chaplain to the Fair Lawn Police Department, whose coordination and planning helped ensure the event ran smoothly.

It is always a privilege to work alongside our law enforcement partners in helping support safe and successful community events. Congratulations to Anshei Lubavitch on this beautiful and meaningful milestone. May this new Sefer Torah bring generations of inspiration, learning, and blessing to the community.

Yesterday's heavy rains brought widespread flooding across Bergen County, and with it came call after call from residents in need of assistance.

This emergency came just days after the rollout of our new Emergency Response Trailer, which proved to be an invaluable asset. Serving as a centralized command post, it allowed our coordinators, dispatchers, and members to efficiently direct operations while providing immediate access to the specialized equipment needed to respond to flooding and other natural emergencies. Equipped with state-of-the-art resources, the trailer ensured our volunteers had everything they needed to help those affected.

We are incredibly grateful to our sister organizations Chaverim of Passaic, Chaverim of Linden, and Chaverim of Union County—for answering the call and providing mutual aid during this period of exceptionally high call volume. Your support made a meaningful difference.

A special thank you also goes to our dedicated members and dispatchers, who answered call after call for hours on end, assisting family after family as floodwaters impacted homes, vehicles, and roadways.

No matter the weather or the emergency, you can always count on Chaverim, we are friends you can always count on.

Today marks a major milestone for Chaverim of Bergen County.

We are proud to introduce our new Emergency Response Trailer, a significant enhancement to our ability to serve Bergen County when our community needs us most.

Designed to support a wide range of emergency operations, this trailer is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment to help our members respond to natural disasters, flooding, severe weather, and other large-scale incidents. It also includes a fully functional command office, allowing us to coordinate and assist with missing person searches and other extended emergency operations directly from the field.

This new resource brings critical equipment closer to where it's needed, ensuring our volunteers have immediate access to the tools required to respond quickly, efficiently, and effectively.

This achievement would not have been possible without the incredible generosity of our supporters. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to for his extraordinary donation of the trailer, as well as to our many generous donors who made it possible to outfit it with top-of-the-line emergency equipment. Your commitment to our mission has strengthened our ability to protect and assist our community for years to come.

We are incredibly proud of this advancement in our emergency response capabilities, but most importantly, we are grateful to you—our amazing community. Your continued support allows us to grow, prepare, and stand ready whenever the need arises.
