It is extremely dry right now, and conditions are ideal for fires to spread fast. We’re asking everyone in our community to please do not burn trash under any circumstances.

Not only is burning trash dangerous in these conditions. It is illegal to burn trash If you have access to trash service. A small fire can turn into a major incident in minutes, putting lives, homes, and our volunteers at risk.

The photo below shows our crew working a fire last night that started from trash burning. These calls are preventable, and your cooperation makes a real difference.

Thank you for helping keep our community safe.

🔥💨 It’s too windy for controlled burns on Monday (20 October, 2025)! With strong winds in the forecast, please avoid all outdoor burning — even small brush piles or trash fires. Winds can cause flames and embers to spread quickly, leading to dangerous wildfires.

✅ Wait for calm conditions
✅ Have water and tools ready when you do burn
✅ Report any unattended fires immediately

Let’s work together to keep our community safe! 🙏

If you are wondering whether it is too dry to burn your trash or yard debris, the answer is yes. Today, we dealt with two grass fires, one of which spread across 30 acres. We appreciate the support from Tecumseh and Bethel Fire Department.

A huge thank you is owed to the members of Pink Fire department who step forward to accept this responsibility.
