Welcome to Red Mesa High School

Red Mesa High School is located in Red Mesa, Arizona, which is about 25 miles southwest of the Four Corners. The school is located on the Navajo Reservation and is a public school. We have nearly 100% Navajo students are coming from low-income families. The students are bussed in everyday from as far as 60 miles away. We have approximately 196 students, ranging fro

m freshman to seniors. The high school staff consists of the principal, dean of students, one counselor, one behavior modification technician, 6 classified staff, and 15 teachers. The majority of the people living in the area are Navajo Indians. There are not many employment opportunities in Red Mesa, which is a community that consists of one school (Pre-K through 12th grade), a convenience store, a Navajo Nation Chapter House, and a sublet office of the Navajo Tribal Utility Company. Just recently, and Indian Health Service Clinic was opened here.

Sharing a message that was sent to all coaches to share with all student-athletes participating in Track and Field.

Yá'át'ééh Coaches,

PLEASE REMIND your athletes that absolutely NO Personal Electronic Devices of theirs should be on the infield, in the staging area or in competition areas, as it is a violation of NFHS Rule 4-6-6c, which states 'athletes are not permitted to wear any audio or video recording or transmitting devices during a race, trial, or while in restricted areas. This restriction minimizes potential distractions and interference with performance. This language is consistent with policies found in other NFHS rules books and reinforces a uniform standard across interscholastic sports.' - https://nfhs.org/resources/sports/track-field-comments-on-the-rules-2026

Unfortunately at the meet Saturday, an athlete had recorded their leg of the relay they were in, with smartglasses on, and spread evidence of this NFHS rules violation on TikTok.

Rules violation aside, PLEASE REMIND your athletes/students of the dangers of over-sharing content online. Our adolescents these days are obsessed with materialism and their online statuses -gaining followers and 'likes' and trying to go viral- much of the time, with little regard for sensitive personal information or potentially incriminating evidence against themselves, being shared.

The NFHS is the national leader and advocate for high school athletics as well as fine and performing arts programs. Within our 51 member state associations, we serve 19,500 high schools and more than 12 million young people.

Good afternoon. The RMJH Boys' team is set to depart at 7:30 AM, with their first game scheduled for 9:30 AM. We warmly invite you to join us in offering positive and uplifting comments to our young athletes. Go Wildcats. Please note the following details:

General Admission is $10, with complimentary admission for children under 4 years. Concession services will be provided on site. Outside food and drinks are not allowed. We strongly promote sportsmanship among fans, players, and coaches. A hospitality room is reserved for coaches, bus drivers, and event personnel.
