Many of you noticed our units in the area of Pitcairn and Windjammer Parks on Wednesday. TCFD participated in a joint training with the York County Sheriff’s Office Dive Team. Training included strategy, skills and tactical operations.

Back to School, Safety First…

The first day of school is an exciting time for parents, students, teachers and bus drivers. As everyone settles back into a routine, the Tega Cay Fire Department wants to remind everyone to keep our students safe.

We wish everyone a safe successful and wonderful school year! Stay alert, Drive carefully, and watch for children and buses. Help protect our community one school day at a time.

Great new tools and techniques with new Ladder 1. Thanks to Cpt. Rufert, we gained some new experience, shared some new techniques and purchased some new tools to better prepare for technical rope rescues in our community.

The Tega Cay Fire Department recently hosted a Trench Rescue Technician course focused on safely rescuing workers trapped in below-grade trenches and excavations.

We were honored to train alongside members of the Fort Mill Fire Department and Rock Hill Fire Department. It was a challenging but incredibly rewarding three days of hands on training and teamwork.

A special thank you to DC Griffin, BC Lockhart, and the South Carolina Fire Academy for providing outstanding instruction and helping strengthen our technical rescue capabilities.
