You’re Invited: Tehachapi High School Class of 2026 Graduation!

We are incredibly proud of our seniors and can’t wait to celebrate their hard work and achievements as they prepare for their next chapter.

Whether you are joining us in person or celebrating from afar, here is everything you need to know for tonight’s ceremony:

TIMELINE OF EVENTS
5:00 PM – Gates Open: Gates open to find seating at Coy Burnett Stadium.
5:15 PM – Senior Check-In: Graduates must report to the JMS Gym for check-in.
6:00 PM – Ceremony: The graduation ceremony officially begins!

PARKING INFORMATION
To make arrival as smooth as possible, please utilize the following parking options:
North End: Parking lots on Tehachapi Blvd at the north end of Coy Burnett Stadium and the Tehachapi Education Center.
South End: Parking by Dye Natatorium & Imhoff Field (south end of Coy Burnett Stadium).

TUSD’s Farmers Market: Fresh, Free, & For Our Community!

We are proud to announce that the TUSD Farmers Market is back! After the huge success of last year's event, the Nutritional Services Department is thrilled to once again offer families large packs of fruits, vegetables, milk, snacks, and proteins at absolutely no cost!

Here is everything you need to know to get your fresh groceries:

EVENT DETAILS
Who: This event is completely FREE to all children 2-18 years of age!
Date: Friday, June 12, 2026
Time: From 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM (please note supplies are limited, so come early!).
Location: 711 Anita Dr , at the Student Drop Off Area off of Snyder Ave by Dye Natatorium.

WHAT'S IN THE BAG?
We are giving away fantastic, fresh selections this year, including:
• 3 lb. Bag of Onions
• 3 lb. Bag of Apples
• ½ Gallon of Milk
• Fresh Avocados
• Cherries
• Blackberries
• ...and much more!

BONUS: FREE SUMMER MEALS PROGRAM
Free Summer Meals are also available to children 2-18 years of age at the Tehachapi Education Center

We are so proud of our 8th graders and can’t wait to celebrate their hard work and achievements as they prepare to head to high school and more.

Whether you are joining us in person or celebrating from afar, here is everything you need to know for tonight’s ceremony:

Timeline of Events
5:00 PM – Student Drop-off: Please drop your student off by the drop off on Snyder Ave on the south end of Coy Burnett Stadium.
5:30 PM – Gates Open: Gates open for parents and guests to find seating.
6:00 PM – Ceremony: The promotion official starts!
7:00 PM – After-Party: Directly following the ceremony, the student dance will begin.

At Tehachapi Unified School District, we proudly recognize the incredible contributions of our classified staff. From our bus drivers and custodians to paraprofessionals, office staff, food service teams, and maintenance crews—you are the backbone of our schools.

Your hard work, dedication, and commitment ensure that our campuses are safe, welcoming, and running smoothly every single day. While much of what you do happens behind the scenes, the impact you make is seen and felt across our entire district.

Thank you for the essential role you play in supporting our students, staff, and community. We appreciate you not just this week, but all year long.

Join us in congratulating Edmund "Ned" Maino, who was recently named a finalist for the prestigious 2026 Kern County Teacher of the Year award! This recognition comes after a rigorous application and screening process, and we are incredibly proud to have him representing Tehachapi Unified School District.

Mr. Maino teaches Economics, U.S. History, AP Government, and AP Economics with a level of rigor that prepares students not only for exams, but for informed citizenship. Students know that when they enter his classroom, they will be challenged, inspired, and genuinely seen. His courses demand critical thinking, analysis, and intellectual courage. Yet despite these high expectations, he maintains exceptional rapport with students. He has the rare ability to make complex economic and governmental concepts accessible, relevant, and exciting!

Beyond the classroom, Mr. Maino's leadership defines campus culture. He serves as a department chair, head class advisor, and club advisor, and he is consistently present at student events. Whether he is chaperoning dances or serving as the spirited voice of Warrior baseball, his commitment signals to students that they matter as people.

His rigor, heart, leadership, and relentless pursuit of excellence embody the highest ideals of teaching. Mr. Maino is now eligible to apply for the California Teacher of the Year program. Please join us in celebrating this incredible, well-deserved honor!

Today is National School Nurse Day! While we have already begun celebrating Teacher Appreciation Week, it is the perfect time to highlight our dedicated health team. Since our Credentialed School Nurses are a vital part of our certificated staff, we are proud to celebrate them alongside our educators while also recognizing the essential support of our LVNs and Health Clerks.

Our entire medical team serves as advocates and leaders who keep our students healthy, safe, and ready to learn. Whether they are managing chronic conditions, supporting mental health, or providing direct care, they work tirelessly to break down barriers to healthcare access.

Please join us in thanking our School Nurses, LVNs, and Health Clerks for the "Uncompromising Excellence" they bring to our schools every day!
