The Tekamah Police Department extends our condolences to the Plattsmouth Police Department and the Kula family for their loss. Officer Kula was a true asset to the state of Nebraska. Officer Kula provided guidance and training to 100s of officers in the state and around the country. Chief Goeken and Officer Murphy have worked with Officer Kula for a number of years in many different capacities and have benefited greatly from their professional relationships. The law enforcement community will greatly miss Officer Kula and his dedication to service. It is a true loss to the communities he served and the officers he trained, mentored and worked closely with. Rest in peace Officer Mark Kula

Officer Kula served 45 years in law enforcement at the federal, state, and municipal levels, including his final assignment as a part-time officer with the Plattsmouth Police Department.
