The event will take place within the red area on the map. Please utilize street parking and be aware of the road closure on S Hamilton.

The Telford Borough Police Department is excited to host Meet the Trucks on Saturday, October 10, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at:

Please note: This is a different location from our previous Touch-A-Truck events, but it’s only a short distance down the street!

This free, all-ages community event will give visitors the opportunity to get an up-close look at a wide variety of emergency, community, construction, and service vehicles and equipment.

The Telford Borough Police Department is accepting applications for the position of Police Officer. This recruitment will fill a vacancy created by a retirement.

Written & Physical Fitness Testing: November 14, 2026

Minimum Certification Requirement:
Applicants must either:
• Possess a current Pennsylvania Act 120 certification, or
• Be actively enrolled in a Pennsylvania Municipal Police Academy.

Successful recent academy graduates and applicants nearing academy graduation may be exempt from our physical fitness test, as this test satisfies the department’s requirement.

Road Closure Information for Saturday.

Main Street/County Line Road will be closed from Rt 113 to East Broad Street during the Sweatshirt of Hope26 Recovery Walk. Cross roads close and open as the walk progresses. The walk starts at approximately 9:00, across from Jesse's BBQ, comes into Telford, turns around at Penn Ave., and heads back to the event grounds.

It is recommended to find alternative routes during this time.

*Homicide Investigation Update*

Please see the following press release regarding the capture of Darwin David Espinal-Del Cid in Honduras. Espinal-Del Cid has been charged in the murder of Maria Bernarda Popol Garcia and is currently awaiting extradition to Bucks County.

We would like to thank our community for the tremendous outpouring of support and assistance throughout this investigation. The information and cooperation provided by the public have been invaluable.

While there is still work to be done, the capture of Espinal-Del Cid represents a significant step toward bringing him to justice and providing some measure of closure for Maria’s family and loved ones.

Thank you to everyone who has assisted our department and our law enforcement partners throughout this investigation.

An international manhunt for a Telford man wanted in the brutal stabbing death of 23-year-old Maria Bernarda Popol Garcia ended today with his arrest in Honduras, Bucks County District Attorney Joe Khan announced Monday.

Officer Mary-Jean Wicher (Badge #43) joined the Telford Borough Police Department this month after completing the Civil Service hiring process.

A lifelong resident of the Indian Valley and graduate of Souderton Area High School, Officer Wicher graduated from the Montgomery County Police Academy in June 2025. She also holds an Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice from Montgomery County Community College.

Outside of work, Officer Wicher enjoys going to the movies, reading, and expressing her creativity through art.

Officer Wicher has begun the Field Training Program and is currently working alongside Officers Kim and Seville as she gains experience serving the Telford community.

Please join us in welcoming Officer Wicher to the team! We are excited to have her as part of the Telford Borough Police Department and wish her a safe and successful career.

Although he has a few more days left before officially retiring, we recently celebrated the remarkable career of Chief of Police Randall "Randy" Floyd, Badge 06, with friends, family, and community members.

Chief Floyd began his law enforcement career nearly 40 years ago with the West Rockhill Township Police Department (now the Pennridge Regional Police Department) before joining the Telford Borough Police Department. A lifelong resident of the Indian Valley, Randy worked as a carpenter, in security, and in human services before attending the Montgomery County Police Academy and beginning a career dedicated to serving others. Beyond policing, Chief Floyd was also a volunteer firefighter, worked in EMS, and volunteered at Grand View Hospital during the early stages of his career.

Throughout his career, Chief Floyd completed approximately 2,500 hours of continuing education and became a respected instructor in child abuse investigations, online safety, domestic violence, juvenile justice, and law enforcement records management. He also served as an instructor at the Montgomery County Police Academy and was also an adjunct professor for college courses. Chief Floyd earned his M.B.A. in Organizational Management from Eastern College and is a graduate of the prestigious FBI National Academy, 191st Session.

During his tenure with Telford Borough, Chief Floyd rose through the ranks and obtained numerous positions from Patrol Officer to Field Training Officer, Juvenile Officer, SWAT Negotiator, Detective, Lieutenant, and ultimately Chief of Police. His leadership, professionalism, and commitment to the department have left a lasting impact on both the organization and the community it serves.

Beyond his law enforcement career, Chief Floyd has remained deeply committed to helping others. Through Rotaplast, a humanitarian program supported by Rotary International, he has traveled to many underserved countries to assist those in need of life-changing medical care. He has also served on numerous local boards and organizations, continually working to strengthen and improve Montgomery County.

When he isn't serving others, Chief Floyd enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors. In retirement, he looks forward to making even more memories with his wife, two children, and four grandchildren.

From everyone at the Telford Borough Police Department, thank you, Chief Floyd, for your nearly four decades of dedicated service, leadership, and unwavering commitment to this department, the Borough of Telford, and the entire Indian Valley community.
Congratulations on your well-earned retirement. We wish you nothing but health, happiness, and success in this next chapter. You have certainly earned it.

The Telford Borough Police Department has had a busy and productive summer! Here are a few recent highlights, with more coming soon:

👮 Gracie Survival Tactics (GST) Training

Recently, TBPD hosted Gracie Survival Tactics (GST) Levels 1 and 2, a 40-hour instructor-level training program that adapts Gracie Jiu-Jitsu techniques to real-world law enforcement situations. Officers receive hands-on training in areas such as controlling resistant individuals, safe handcuffing techniques, vehicle extractions, and self-defense.

We are proud to say that nearly every TBPD officer has completed this training, helping them safely resolve encounters while reducing the risk of injury to officers and those they serve.

Each summer, TBPD hosts this training with special thanks to the Souderton Area School District for allowing us to use their wrestling facilities. Over the past five years of us hosting, nearly 300 law enforcement officers have completed the program through our training site. While many attendees come from southeastern Pennsylvania, officers have also traveled from Texas, Virginia, New Jersey, and New York to participate in this highly regarded course.

🍦 Cones with a Cop

On June 24, TBPD officers and staff participated in the Telford Night Market, where we handed out approximately 280 ice cream vouchers that were redeemed at the Downtown Scoop ice cream truck.

Several community members have asked how the event is funded. The ice cream is made possible entirely through generous donations from local businesses and community members, allowing us to provide this fun community event at no cost. Thank you to everyone who has helped make this tradition possible!

✅ Accreditation Success

TBPD successfully completed its reaccreditation assessment through the Pennsylvania Law Enforcement Accreditation Commission (PLEAC).

PLEAC was established in 2001 to promote professionalism and excellence in Pennsylvania law enforcement through high standards and best practices. Accreditation is voluntary and requires departments to undergo a comprehensive evaluation of policies, procedures, training, evidence handling, equipment, reports, and overall operations. Departments are reassessed every three years to maintain their accredited status.

Out of more than 1,200 law enforcement agencies across Pennsylvania, only 209 currently hold PLEAC accreditation. TBPD first earned accreditation in 2017, and we are proud to continue meeting these professional standards.

We received a handful of reports of unlocked vehicles being ransacked overnight in the Telford Commons area. There are similar reports in neighboring towns including a vehicle being stolen.
