JFK Pool Update
We want to provide the community with an update on the JFK Pool.
Over the past several weeks, work has been underway to repair the pool’s aging infrastructure, including underground pipes, drains, and other components that are essential to the safe operation of the facility. As inspections and repairs progressed, additional issues were identified that require more extensive work than originally anticipated.
At Mondays City Council meeting, the condition of the pool and the remaining repairs were discussed. After careful consideration, the City Council voted that it is in the best interest of both the facility and the public that the JFK Pool remain closed for the remainder of the 2026 season.
While we understand this is disappointing news, this decision was made with safety as the highest priority. Rather than making temporary repairs to try to open late in the season, the focus will now be on completing the necessary work correctly so the pool can reopen next year without these ongoing infrastructure concerns.
We know many families were looking forward to enjoying the pool this summer, and we share that disappointment. We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as we continue working toward a safe, reliable, and long-lasting facility for our community.
