Tell City Trick or Treat: Friday- October 31, 2025. 5pm-8pm.

**🎃 Trick-or-Treat Safety Tips from the Tell City Police Department 🎃**

As Halloween approaches, we want to ensure that everyone has a fun and safe experience while trick-or-treating. Here are some important safety tips for parents, children, and drivers:

👻 **For Trick-or-Treaters:**
- **Stay Visible:** Wear bright costumes or add reflective tape to your outfits. Carry a flashlight or glow stick.
- **Buddy System:** Always go trick-or-treating with friends or family members. Never go alone.
- **Stay on Sidewalks:** Use sidewalks whenever possible. If there are no sidewalks, walk on the left side of the street facing traffic.
- **Cross Safely:** Look both ways before crossing the street and cross at corners or crosswalks.

🍬 **For Parents:**
- **Check Candy:** Inspect all treats before allowing your children to eat them. Discard any unwrapped or suspicious items.
- **Set a Curfew:** Establish a time for your children to return home while trick-or-treating.
- **Know Your Route:** Discuss the route your children will take and make sure it’s in a safe area.

🚗 **For Drivers:**
- **Slow Down:** Drive slowly in residential areas, especially during peak trick-or-treating hours.
- **Watch for Children:** Be alert for kids darting out between parked cars. Make sure to stop for pedestrians.

Let’s work together to keep our community safe this Halloween! If you see any suspicious activity, don’t hesitate to contact the Tell City Police Department at 812-547-7068.

Have a spooktacular and safe Halloween! 🎃👮‍♂️👮‍♀️
