The officers' work room at TCPD recently received a much-needed facelift, its first in 23 years. This space is vital to our team, providing a safe, secure, and comfortable environment during long 12-hour shifts for completing paperwork, processing cases, and debriefing.

What makes this project especially meaningful is that all materials and supplies were funded through the generosity of donors, while the labor was performed by members of our own team. This collaborative approach allowed us to modernize and improve our workspace for our frontline personnel while demonstrating responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars.

We are grateful for everyone who contributed to this effort. It serves as a reminder that anything worth having is worth working for.

Tell City Police Department Executes Search Warrants; Multiple Felony Charges Requested

A Perry County man was taken into custody following the ex*****on of search warrants related to an investigation involving the alleged exploitation of a juvenile female.

The investigation began after an out-of-state law enforcement agency contacted local authorities regarding allegations that a 16-year-old female had been contacted through social media by an individual believed to reside in Tell City, Indiana. Through a series of subpoenas and investigative efforts, authorities identified the suspect as Dalton Schilling, 26, of Tell City.

Investigators allege that Schilling used social media and electronic messaging platforms to communicate with the juvenile and repeatedly solicited explicit images from her. Authorities further allege that those images were subsequently distributed to others without the juvenile's consent.

On June 4, 2026, the Tell City Police Department obtained and executed search warrants at a residence in the 1100 block of 11th Street. During the ex*****on of the warrants, officers observed suspected controlled substances, drug-related evidence, and other preliminary evidence relevant to the ongoing investigation.

The investigation remains active and involved cooperation between the Tell City Police Department, the Perry County Sheriff's Office, the Cookeville,TN Police Department, and the Perry County Prosecutor's Office.

Based upon evidence obtained during the investigation, probable cause has been submitted alleging the following offenses:

-Dealing in a Controlled Substance (Level 2 Felony)
-Promotion of Child S*x Trafficking (Level 3 Felony)
-Dealing in Ma*****na (Level 5 Felony)
-Child Exploitation (Level 5 Felony)
-Dissemination of Matter Harmful to Minors (Level 6 Felony)
-Distribution of an Intimate Image (Class A Misdemeanor)
-Intimidation (Class A Misdemeanor)
-Possession of a Controlled Substance (Class A Misdemeanor)
-Possession of Ma*****na (Class B Misdemeanor)

Today, members and trainers of the TCPD Project Lifesaver Team provided certification training for staff members from Anderson Woods Summer Camp and volunteers.

Participants received hands-on instruction in the deployment and use of specialized Project Lifesaver equipment designed to assist first responders in locating missing children and adults who may wander due to cognitive or developmental conditions.

Project Lifesaver is the leading search-and-rescue program operated by public safety agencies throughout the United States and internationally. The program is designed to help protect individuals who are at risk of wandering or eloping due to autism, Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or other cognitive conditions.

We are honored to partner with Anderson Woods Summer Camp and our dedicated volunteers in support of this important mission. Through training, collaboration, and community involvement, we are working together to help bring loved ones home safely and provide families with greater peace of mind.

If you know someone who could benefit from this program or would like more information, please don't hesitate to contact us. We would be happy to answer your questions and help determine whether Project Lifesaver is the right fit for your loved one.

πŸš”πŸ—‘οΈ TELL CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT COMMUNITY ALERT πŸ—‘οΈπŸš”

Heavy Trash Pickup is almost here, which means it's that magical time of year when everyone suddenly discovers they own three broken recliners, a television from the Clinton administration, and a mysterious box they've been moving from house to house since 1997.

A few reminders:

πŸ”Ή If you haven't used it in 10 years, now is its chance to achieve its destiny at the curb.

πŸ”Ή The abandoned treadmill in your basement is not a family heirloom. Set it free.

πŸ”Ή If your couch has hosted more generations than your family tree, it's time.

πŸ”Ή Please place items neatly at the curb. Creating a life-sized recreation of Mount Everest out of household junk is discouraged.

Our officers would like to remind everyone that heavy trash pickup is not a competitive event. There is no prize for "Largest Collection of Questionable Life Decisions."

We also ask residents to resist the urge to drive around town judging everyone else's piles. Remember: today's "Why would anyone keep that?" is tomorrow's "Oh yeah, I have one of those too."

Thank you for helping keep Tell City looking great. May your garages gain square footage and may your basements once again be visible.

Most importantly, we would like to thank the hardworking City crews who will be tackling the mountains of discarded treasures in the days ahead. Your efforts help keep Tell City looking its best.

Police work is anything but routine! Recently, TCPD Officer Clay James went above and beyond after discovering an owl that had sustained an injured wing following a vehicle collision.

Officer James carefully rescued the owl and ensured it received immediate attention and care. After being safely stabilized, the owl was successfully turned over to representatives from The Talon Trust for continued recovery and rehabilitation.

We are proud of Officer James for showing compassion and professionalism in protecting all members of our community ….even the feathered ones. Great work, Clay! πŸ¦‰πŸ’™

As we reflect on last week’s recognition of Police Week, we are reminded of the genuine support we feel from the community we proudly serve. Throughout the week, we were overwhelmed by the kind gestures, thoughtful messages, and visits from people who took the time to show their appreciation for law enforcement.

We would especially like to thank Ryan Werner and The Post, Bill and Dave’s, Candie Kleemann, John and Laura Taylor, the Perry County FOP Auxiliary, Abby Froelich, Josh Harris, Perry Central Schools, and Brickyard for their generosity and encouragement during the week. Your support means more than words can express.

We are proud to serve this community and grateful to call it home. We truly love where we serve.
