Responding to the emergency needs of our community since 1878

Established in 1878, the Telluride Volunteer Fire Department does not just fight fires; we also respond to gas leaks, CO detector alarms, EMS calls, HAZ-MAT spills, and produce the Telluride Firefigther’s Fourth of July picnic and firework show.

Our team of 70+ volunteers consists of dedicated members of our community that donate their time to help those in need when they need help most.

In addition to providing top-notch emergency services, as a result of our fundraising efforts we are able to provide university scholarships to local students, maintain our historical fire fighting equipment, and provide benefits for our volunteer firefighters.
