📣We celebrate Ms. Military California 26 - Dr-Antwanisha Williamson . She is a decorated U.S. Navy veteran, higher education leader, and equity advocate with 18 years of honorable military service and extensive experience in education, project management, and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). Born and raised in Stockton, California, she has dedicated her career to service, community empowerment, and advancing access to education.
She holds a Doctorate in Transformative Action in Education from the University of the Pacific, along with dual master’s degrees in Business Administration and Project Management, and an
advanced project management certification from Stanford University. Her dissertation, A Qualitative Study of Understanding Female Navy Veterans’ Experiences with Representation and
Inclusion in the United States Military (2023), underscores her commitment to amplifying underrepresented voices and shaping inclusive policies.
Currently serving as an Ethnic Studies Consultant, Dr. Williamson leads the development of African American Ethnic Studies curriculum for California school districts. She also holds key
leadership roles as President of the California Educational Research Association (CERA), 2nd Vice President of the NAACP CA-HI State Conference, Chair of Armed Services & Veteran Affairs for the NAACP CA– HI State Conference, and the Program Chair for the National NAACP Armed Services Committee. Her work spans veterans’ advocacy, youth mentorship, and educational reform.
Her leadership and service have been recognized with multiple honors, including the NAACP Community Service Award (2019) and the CAL-VET Trailblazer Award (2021), NAACP State Presidential Award in Advocacy (2023), the Willis Edwards Legacy Award (2025), the Contra Costa County Bar Association Social Impact “Exoneration Champion” Award (2025), and an Honorary Doctorate in Humanitarianism (2025), She is a lifetime member of the NAACP
Stockton Branch and is also a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. NAACP
Above all, she is a devoted mother of three, whose children inspire her daily mission to advance equity, education, and opportunity for all.
