Kiwanis Park North got a colorful new refresh and is officially open for everyone to explore! 🌈🌳

At the heart of the celebration is ‘Intersection Rock’, a vibrant public art piece by local artist Bobby Zokaites. Inspired by iconic desert formations like Papago Park’s Hole‑in‑the‑Rock, this climbable sculpture is designed for curiosity, discovery, and play. It’s not just something to look at - it’s a place to climb, sit and discover. Bobby also designed the new rubberized playground surface, bringing even more color and creativity into the space.

Kids wasted no time making it their own, scaling the artwork and enjoying the all‑new play features nearby.

Thank you to Mayor Corey Woods, City Council members, and everyone who joined us for the ribbon cutting and our Arts in the Parks grand opening event.

We’re excited for you to experience this new interactive art and play space at Kiwanis Park!

Daley Park is officially open, and we can’t wait for you to experience it! 🌳✨

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Arts in the Parks celebration - including Mayor Corey Woods, City Council members, community partners, and all the families who came out to enjoy the evening.

A special spotlight goes to artist Kyllan Maney, whose vision brought the new playground’s vibrant rubberized surface to life. 🎨✨ Her artwork adds color, movement, and imagination to a space where kids can explore and play. Kyllan hosted a hands-on art activity during the event, giving the community a chance to connect creatively with the inspiration behind the design.

We’re so excited for you to enjoy this refreshed space. Here’s to many years of play, art, and togetherness at Daley Park! 💚

🎨 Introducing Studio Artist Rachel Rinker!

Rachel is one of five new artists joining Tempe’s Studio Artists Residency this year, bringing her creative practice into classrooms across Tempe Elementary School District.

Rachel is a Phoenix-based painter and musician who uses abstract art and music to explore feelings, memories and everyday experiences. Her work draws on the rhythms of life and our connections to the people and places around us.

Through the residency, third graders will get to learn and create alongside Rachel, exploring new materials, ideas and ways of making through art.

In celebration of World Teacher Day, we’re shining a spotlight on Teaching Artist Dain Q. Gore! 🍎

Dain has been a creative force in the Valley for two decades and has spent the last four years inspiring students at the Edna Vihel Arts Center. A painter, college art instructor, and puppeteer, Dain’s colorful and surreal work has been showcased around the world - from Beijing to Himeiji to Meow Wolf in Santa Fe. He also brings his signature sassy puppetry to the Great Arizona Puppet Theater and Phoenix Art Museum!

Want to learn from Dain yourself? Join one of his upcoming fall workshops and classes:

• Painting in Acrylics: Surrealism – Weekly adult class, October 14–December 9
