Consultations focus on isolating the potential cause of the leak and providing recommendations to resolve it. Farm to Fork restaurant week is on! We're partnering with Tempe restaurants to highlight the local food that grows abundantly throughout the state of Arizona.

Participating restaurants and food businesses are offering a Farm To Fork special on their menu this week which will include ingredients sourced from Arizona farmers and ranchers.

Efficiency Arizona offers rebates of up to $14,000 per household, depending on eligibility and income. Eligible improvements can include heat pumps, heat pump water heaters, insulation and air sealing, electrical upgrades, and other efficient appliances.

🏠 Weatherization Assistance Program

Provides free energy-efficiency improvements for eligible low-income households, with a focus on health and safety. Services may include insulation, air conditioner and water heater repairs or replacement, energy-efficient lighting, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, and more.

Helps eligible low- to moderate-income homeowners address urgent health and safety issues in their homes, including non-functioning air conditioning and heating systems.

As the Arizona heat season nears its end, with cooler temperatures this weekend, let’s take a look at the number of days over 100°F in 2026 so far.

This year, we’ve had 129 days over 100°F, 39 of those days being over 110°F. Arizona also saw an unusually early start to extreme heat, breaking a record with temperatures reaching 100°F on March 18 - we normally don’t hit 100°F until May!

As climate change continues to intensify, we will continue to see an increase in heat. Each year, it becomes even more important to be aware, educated, and resilient.

It will be a tale of 2 seasons this week ☀️ 🍃 🌧️ as abnormally hot and dry conditions lead way to a cooler and wetter pattern later this weekend.

-A strong ridge of high pressure will push high temperatures well above normal through the rest of this week with most lower desert communities experiencing triple digit highs

-A much cooler and wetter weather pattern looks to take shape by this weekend into early next week with rain chances returning to much of the Desert Southwest Sunday into Monday

Arizona’s hottest days can also be some of the most demanding days for our electric grid. Energy efficiency can help reduce that demand.

Here’s what that looks like:

📈 Looking ahead, SRP projects 700 MW of cumulative peak savings by 2035, while APS projects 1,432 MW in peak demand savings.

October may be spooky — but heat is scarier. 👻

While October should feel like fall, it still feels like summer in Arizona.

According to the National Weather Service, Arizona reached a high of 88°F last year on Halloween compared to 86°F in 2016 and 83°F in 2006. While high 80’s may feel cooler than triple-digit temperatures, heat can still be dangerous if not taken seriously.

Remember to…
💧Hydrate: Keep water (or blood if you’re a vampire) with you and drink throughout the day before you get thirsty.

👚Dress Appropriately: Wear lightweight, loose-fitting clothes (that includes your costumes!)

⏰Adjust activities to early morning or evening (perfect time for trick or treating!).

👯Check on neighbors, ghouls, and ghosts to make sure they are staying safe too.

As you drink your pumpkin spiced latte and put up decorations, remember to stay safe in the heat. 🎃

⚡ DAY 2: Energy efficiency is Arizona’s lowest-cost grid resource.

Energy efficiency isn’t just about using less energy, it can also be a cost-effective way to meet Arizona’s energy needs.

Here’s what the numbers show:

💰 Energy efficiency can cost 1/3 to 1/4 as much as building new fossil fuel peaking plants.

📈 Between 2010 and 2024, energy efficiency programs from Arizona’s three largest utilities (APS, SRP and TEP) generated $5.3 billion in net economic benefits and saved 14.2 billion kWh.

⚡ Since 2010, efficiency programs from APS, TEP and UniSource have produced more than 2,000 MW of cumulative peak demand savings, equivalent to the capacity of several large power plants.

Bottom Line: Energy efficiency helps save energy, generate economic benefits, and reduce peak demand on the grid.
