Hello everyone!

This past Friday, we had the amazing opportunity to host Baker Middle School Robotics Team at the Tempe Campus! ♥️🔱

On this campus visit, we were able to introduce our office and its initiatives along with other strong forces within the Sun Devil Community! 🌴

We were also able to invite AISES Chapter at ASU to join the campus visit where they were able to conduct a workshop and build a catapult with the students, which was a fun activity! 🤖🥼

We then took the students to the Student Pavilion to visit the AIP at ASU office, to show the students some student organizations and the efforts they conduct! 😎

Special thank you to ASU American Indian Student Support Services as well for showing the student some resources available for Sun Devils! 📚

Thank you! 🤗

Welcome Back Students! 🥳

The Office of American Indian Initiatives (OAII) is excited to welcome you back to campus for another academic year! We hope you start the semester strong, find community along the way, and continue moving toward your academic and personal goals.

Whether you’re new to ASU or returning for another year, we invite you to stop by our office to meet our team, learn about volunteer opportunities, ask about our programs, or simply hang out! You can find us on the 3rd floor of the Memorial Union on the Tempe campus. Just ask for the Office of American Indian Initiatives, and someone will be happy to point you in our direction.

So, what did OAII do this summer?🤔

Our team hosted the annual INSPIRE Summer Camp, a week-long college readiness experience for Indigenous high school students. INSPIRE gives students an opportunity to experience life at ASU, explore higher education, connect with Indigenous students and programs, and begin imagining what their own college journey could look like.

That work reflects the heart of OAII’s mission: supporting Indigenous K–12 students as they explore higher education and helping them see that there is a place for them at ASU.

Interested in getting involved with OAII or supporting our outreach efforts? Reach out to Ethan Tacheene or send our office an email to learn more about upcoming opportunities.

We’re excited for another year of learning, community, and supporting Indigenous students.

Welcome back, Sun Devils! 🔱

🔱🚨ATTENTION CURRENT AND INCOMING ASU STUDENTS🚨🔱

The Office of American Indian Initiatives- ACCESS ASU invites you to participate in our photoshoot!

Our office is dedicated to expanding access to higher education for Indigenous K–12 students by creating meaningful outreach experiences that inspire them to envision themselves at ASU. We recognize the unique opportunities and challenges many Indigenous students encounter when considering college, and we are committed to providing programs that encourage and support their educational journey beyond high school. 🏫 🪶

An important part of our mission is highlighting the vibrant Indigenous community that already exists at ASU. We believe that current Indigenous students play a powerful role in inspiring the next generation, and we would be honored to have you represent our community during an upcoming outreach event. 😇

We would like to formally invite you to participate on Friday, August 28, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on the Arizona State University Tempe campus.

Good afternoon everyone!!

We hope you all are enjoying your summer and staying cool from the heat 😎☀️. But this morning we had a visit from Northern Arizona University’s TRIO Talent Search Program! 🏔️They were able to hear more about our programming at ASU, explore Labriola National American Indian Data Center, and hear from the Barrett Honors College 📚🏫.

We hope they have a safe journey home and to see them soon on campus! 😇🔱

Ahéhee’. Asquali. Thank you.

INSPIRE 2026 is officially over!

Back in June we welcomed 72 indigenous students onto ASU Tempe campus from all across the country, ranging from Wisconsin, Oklahoma, Texas, and of course Arizona! All supported by 13 camp ambassadors to foster the week full of cultural engagement, leadership development, and community building. They were exposed to the college lifestyle like attending lectures and seminars to fun filled evenings like our lip sync battle and game nights.

Thank you to everyone who helped make INSPIRE possible! From our many presenters who left lasting impressions on the students, our donors and supporters who invested time and energy and of course our volunteers who helped every step of the way. Together we created an experience that will help the students become independent, create connections and build resilience.

Can’t wait for INSPIRE 2027 and have a fun rest of the summer!!

Ahéhee’. Asquali. Thank you.
