Residents of Bedford Township

Troy Goodnough Monroe County Sheriff has asked me to inform everyone that golf carts on roads in Bedford Township are not allowed. Some false information has been put out that you can ride them if you hug the side of the road this is not true. Bedford has not passed a resolution on operating golf carts on our roads at this time.

Good morning,

I wanted to make you aware that Enbridge will be conducting planned maintenance on a pipeline in your area throughout the month of October.

During the week of October 5, residents may notice periods of increased construction activity and occasional petroleum odors near the worksite located near Samaria Rd and Douglas Rd.

These conditions are expected and are associated with the planned maintenance work.

Our Lands and Right-of-Way team has also proactively made an effort to notify adjacent property owners about the upcoming work and the expected increase in activity during the October period.

We appreciate your awareness and support as we complete this important maintenance work safely and efficiently.

Monroe County Road Commission Alert!

Sterns Road between Adler Road and Sheffield Place will be closed, effective 9/28, for an under-the-road culvert repair and roadside drainage improvements. This section of road will be closed to all through traffic, with the exact location of the culvert replacement being adjacent to the large pond associated with Canterbury Forest.

The closure includes coordination with South County Water Systems and Consumers Electric, both of whom have committed to performing some field work to help our contractor manage or avoid know utility conflicts in the area.

The closure is being forecast to end by 10/16, but we are hopeful things will progress quicker, weather permitting.

The roundabout at Jackman & Smith should be done the first week of October depending on weather.
