Bedford Public Schools Bedford Public School District is proud to offer a high quality education to the residents of Bedford Township.

Bedford Public Schools continues a tradition of educational excellence in early childhood education with an award winning GSRP program; our three elementary schools: Douglas Road Elementary, Jackman Road Elementary, and Monroe Road Elementary; Bedford Junior High School; and Bedford High School along with our Bedford Virtual Academy; and continuing beyond with our Adult Education programs. The district has an enrollment of nearly 4,000 students that routinely exceed state averages in assessments such as the M-STEP, MME and SAT thanks to the efforts of our dedicated staff, the hard work of our students, and the support of parents and our community.

13. Why is it so important? It's the consecutive number of times the Bedford High School Marching Band has earned a Superior 1 rating at the MSBOA Festival. We don't take for granted the time, effort, and dedication our instructors and the entire marching band put in to maintain their continued excellence. It is officially on the market! The latest home build for our CTE group, led by instructor Kevin Vogel, is ready and located at 7085 Maplewood Drive in Temperance. We've received this from the committee who organized our recent Volley for the Cure event:

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported the Bedford Volley for the Cure event. Because of the generosity of our community, we were able to directly impact four local families affected by cancer, providing meaningful support during an incredibly challenging time. While also providing donations and support to several local cancer organizations.

These funds help ease some of the burdens families face, allowing them to focus on what matters most: treatment, healing, and recovery.

We are grateful to the athletes, coaches, volunteers, sponsors, donors, and supporters who came together to make a difference. Your compassion and commitment are a powerful reminder of what can be accomplished when a community unites behind a cause.

Together, we serve. Together, we support. Together, we make a difference.

Thank you, Bedford Volleyball Community, for your generosity, your heart, and your commitment to supporting local families in their fight against cancer.

At the 5:00pm briefing at the Lucas County EOC, the Fire Dept. and EPA stated the evacuation zone can shrink down to .5 mile and they are lifting the Shelter in place zone.

This means that no further protective actions are needed for Monroe County residents, businesses, pets and farm annimals.

Unfortunately, it is too late in the process to restore canceled events, but I am very grateful for the continual communication from Bedford Fire Department and Monroe County Emergency Operations Department.

Their communication throughout the day allowed the district to stay on top of a serious set of circumstances to ensure our students and staff safety.

Good Afternoon BPS Community,

The district has been updated on the current status of the City of Toledo/Lucas County Hazardous Material situation as of 12:30pm. At this time, the recommended shelter in place status for the southeastern portion of the community will remain until further notice. Lucas County and City of Toledo officials are working closely with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) on safety protocols and updates to the community.

Based on this most recent update, Bedford Public Schools will be canceling ALL in-district events scheduled for the remainder of the day. If there are any events scheduled to take place outside of the district, coaches or directors will contact those individuals separately. Bedford's partial inclusion in the shelter in place and our close proximity to this hazardous event make it necessary to be cautious. Neighboring communities not residing within the 3-5 mile range from the center of the hazardous event appear safe to operate as normal.

Bedford Public Schools, including Latchkey, will be closed today, Wednesday, October 21st due to an ongoing Hazardous Materials Evacuation and Shelter-in-Place situation in neighboring Toledo.
