Here at United Way of Central Texas, we understand the IMPACT of NEED and we are here for you. Contact 2-1-1 for the resources you need when you need it most at any time 24/7, any language, any age.

Every family needs a safe place to live and food on the table.

But the rising cost of these basics is putting added pressure on household budgets. Between 2007 and 2024, housing costs in the U.S. nearly doubled while food costs rose 38%.

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) measures price changes across a broad range of goods and services. The ALICE Essentials Index focuses just on the basics families need every day. Because housing and food make up the largest portions of the Index, they are also the biggest drivers of its increase.

Better data helps communities understand where pressures are greatest — and where solutions can have the biggest impact.

Learn more about the ALICE Essentials Index at the link in the comments.

2026 Football & Cheer Camp Photo Dump!

What an incredible day of energy, teamwork, encouragement, and community! From learning new football skills and cheer routines to building confidence and making new friends, our young people showed up ready to learn, grow, and have fun.

This event reflects the heart of United Way of Central Texas and our commitment to helping families and communities thrive through our four pillars:

Health — encouraging physical activity, wellness, and healthy development

Education — teaching discipline, teamwork, leadership, and perseverance

Financial Stability — connecting families with opportunities and community resources that support long-term success

Community Resilence — strengthening the network of caring people and organizations that help families feel supported

A heartfelt thank-you to every coach, cheer instructor, volunteer, sponsor, parent, community partner, and participant who made this day possible. These photos capture more than an event—they capture what happens when our community comes together to invest in the next generation.

Together, we are building healthier children, stronger families, and a stronger Central Texas. United is the Way!
