🚨 IMPORTANT UPDATE: New Fireworks Regulations for Templeton 🚨

• ANY ILLEGAL FIREWORKS ARE PROHIBITED AND WILL RESULT IN A $1,000 FINE PER OCCURRENCE.

As we prepare to celebrate Independence Day, Templeton Fire & Emergency Services wants to make sure our community is aware of new fireworks regulations that are now in effect this year. These changes were adopted to help reduce fire risk, improve public safety, and ensure a safe holiday for everyone.

Key changes include:
• Safe & Sane fireworks may only be used on private residential property with the owner’s permission.
• Fireworks are not allowed on streets, sidewalks, parking lots, parks, schools, commercial properties, or any other public property.
• Fireworks may only be discharged on July 4th between 12:00 PM and 10:00 PM.
• You must be 18 years or older to purchase or possess Safe & Sane fireworks.
• Violations may result in fines, criminal penalties, and potential liability for damages caused by fireworks.

With dry vegetation and elevated fire danger throughout our community, we ask everyone to celebrate responsibly and help us keep Templeton safe.

For complete details on the new regulations, visit the TCSD website or copy the link in the photo.

Big update:
New life saving equipment in service.

Templeton Fire Department is proud to place our new 2025 NFPA compliant MSA SCBA’s into service.

A Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus is one of the most critical pieces of equipment a firefighter wears. It provides clean breathable air in smoke filled and hazardous environments, allowing firefighters to safely operate in conditions that would otherwise be unsurvivable.

These new MSA packs replace our previous Scott SCBA’s, which served our department for more than 15 years and had reached the end of their service life. They were no longer compliant with our operational needs and were officially out of service for Templeton Fire. Upgrading to current NFPA standards means improved firefighter safety, increased reliability, and modern technology designed to perform when every second matters.

We’re also proud that through a partnership with the City of Paso Robles Fire, we were able to give some of our retired, out of service SCBA packs and other out of service equipment a second life. Along with Paso Robles Fire donating two utility vehicles, the equipment was sent to the Cabo San Lucas Volunteer Fire Department, where it can continue supporting firefighters and personnel who may benefit from access to improved equipment.

For our firefighters, this means dependable protection on the fireground. For our community, it means Templeton Fire is better equipped to respond safely and effectively. And beyond our own department, it’s meaningful to know retired equipment can still help support fellow firefighters serving their communities.

Thank you for the continued support!

Templeton neighbors were inviting you to help protect our community. 🌿🔥

The Templeton Fire Department is working to establish Firewise USA® communities in our area, and we want you to be part of it.

Firewise is a national program that helps neighbors work together to reduce wildfire risk around homes and neighborhoods. It’s about simple, practical steps we can take as a community to better protect our families, homes, and the place we love.

We’re looking for residents who want to:
•Learn how Firewise works
•Ask questions and share concerns
•Help organize your neighborhood
•Be part of building a more wildfire resilient neighborhood

This is just the beginning, and community involvement is what makes it possible.

Interested? Curious? Want to learn more?
Please reach out to Fire Captain Brandon Wall at [email protected]

We’re also planning a community meeting where everyone is invited to learn more about Firewise USA®, ask questions, and find out how to get involved.

Interested in attending? Keep an eye on our page for the date, time, and location.

Together, we can make Templeton stronger, safer, and better prepared for wildfire season.

At approximately 1240 today, E7195 responded to power lines down due to a large tree limb that fell across Lincoln Ave. Upon arrival, E7195 and responding agencies took appropriate safety measures by blocking access to the road and immediately requesting PG&E to take care of the live wires. Additionally, public works was requested to take care of the downed tree so that the road can be reopened to residents.

While committed to this incident, Templeton Fire received two additional calls for medical issues within the district. Our department had to rely on automatic and mutual aid agencies to respond to these two medical calls in town to ensure that our community is covered and taken care of.

Thank you to the local agencies that assist us and to the community for your continued support as we do our best to serve the community well.
