Meet Officer Knight- the first female CHP officer in Templeton in nearly twenty years!

Her journey reminds us that CHP officers come from many different backgrounds, each carrying their own strengths, passions, and stories. Officer Knight brings all of hers with pride.

She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Education and Community Leadership from San José State University. Before attending the CHP Academy, she taught local youth through the Community Action Partnership of San Luis Obispo County.

She also served as a Youth Choir Director and Organist, plays both piano and organ, and studied music in Guadalajara, Mexico, completing formal training in Gregorian Chant at the Diocesan Superior School of Sacred Music. She continues to share her musical talents in her free time, bringing harmony to both her community and her career.

If you see her out and about, give her a warm Templeton welcome. Bonus points if you greet her in harmony!🎶🚓

Join the California Highway Patrol's commercial unit as a Motor Carrier Specialist (MCS) and play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of our roadways! 🌟

As an MCS, you'll:
🔍 Travel within your division to inspect motor carriers.
✅ Ensure compliance with safety, maintenance, and operational regulations.
📝 Verify drivers' records for controlled substances and hazardous materials.
💡 Provide recommendations for procedural enhancements.
🚍 Inspect a variety of vehicles, from school buses to semi-trailers, to safeguard our roadways from unsafe commercial vehicles.

This week is a time to reflect, remember, and express gratitude for the courage and dedication of our fallen heroes, while also recognizing the men and women who continue to serve each day with commitment and integrity.

We stand in remembrance, gratitude, and support for the families, friends, and agencies who carry their legacy forward. 💙

When they say get out of the way, they mean it. But sometimes the Cal Fire tanker decides you’re part of the scenery.

Video of pure chaos: everyone scrambling like someone yelled “free donuts,” and then the tanker rolls in with the full red‑carpet treatment — no VIP pass required.

The aftermath:
• One CHP Templeton Motor Officer dipped head‑to‑toe in “Cal Fire Red”
• A motor that now perfectly matches him
• A highway that looks ready for its own movie premiere

Even after the surprise makeover, he’s still smiling and still on the job — because wildfire response is unpredictable, messy, and occasionally… stylish.

CHP Templeton was honored to host a profoundly meaningful Retirees Breakfast, bringing together former personnel of all ranks who served our Area and the surrounding region across many decades.

The stories shared, the reunions rekindled, and the sense of legacy at the tables were truly moving. Moments like these remind us that the foundation we stand on today was built by the hands, hearts, and dedication of those who came before us.

We extend our deepest appreciation to the staff and volunteers who prepared the space, decorated, cooked, and even took turns at the griddle flipping pancakes!! Your teamwork and spirit turned this gathering into something unforgettable.

To the retirees who were unable to attend, your service was honored with equal respect, and we look forward to welcoming you at our next gathering.

From public service and teamwork to leadership and making a difference in our community, it was exciting to share what makes this career so rewarding.
