(1 of 2) Tenafly Mayor and Council Meeting recap from 10/20/26:

A Holiday of Diwali Proclamation was presented by Tenafly students and signed by the Mayor. Recognizing 5 days of Diwali (Nov. 6-10). Residents are encouraged to learn about the significance of the holiday including charitable giving, gathering with friends and family, celebration of light and goodness, and attainment of self-realization.

Tenafly qualifies for limited uses with Community Development Block Grant, particularly removing architectural barriers for ADA compliance at public buildings. The Borough Administrator was directed to review options with the building at Davis Johnson Park, Sunnyside Field, and The Nature Center. He will report his findings and recommendations on November 10th .

PSE&G will be paving on Knickerbocker Road and Ivy Lane with a target to be completed by the end of October. Stay tuned for specific alerts regarding these major arteries to plan travel.
• Borough paving will be taking place between October 31st and November 13th on the following roads:
â—¦ Magnolia Avenue
â—¦ Laurel Avenue
â—¦ Orchard Place
â—¦ Sisson Terrace
â—¦ Ravine Road
â—¦ Prospect Terrace
â—¦ Hillside Avenue
PSE&G paving on additional Borough Roads is expected in November; a list of those roads will be published as that schedule gets confirmed.

Mayor Zinna and Borough Administrator Fanslau have sent letters to the New Jersey State Health Benefits program urging parity for small and medium sized municipalities to receive the same level of underwriting quality claims experience to position the Borough to seek alternatives to employee health benefits. Mayor Zinna has led the call for the State Legislature to clarify that all member municipalities receive the same level of claims utilization detail.
