Although this post is a little late, I did not want to miss the opportunity to acknowledge the memorial service held on May 6th in the chapel for our fallen officers.

The ceremony was a deeply moving tribute, honoring not only their service but also the lasting impact they made on all of us. Former Assistant Warden Douglas Skaggs delivered a powerful and heartfelt address that captured the officer's dedication, integrity, and commitment to duty.

Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to a service that truly reflected the respect and gratitude our fallen officers deserve.

TDCJ is thrilled to announce Anthony Newton as the new Region II Regional Director! 🎉

He began his TDCJ career in 2002 as a Correctional Officer and advanced through the security ranks. In 2019, Newton was promoted to Assistant Warden and later to Senior Warden in 2022, serving at multiple units across the state.

With more than two decades of experience, he exemplifies strong leadership and dedication to the agency’s mission. Region II is in great hands! 👏⭐
