🚧 HWY 48 UPDATE Closure at the train tracks 🚧

Originally the railroad crossing closure was supposed to be 5/12–5/15…

Now it’s:
❌ 5/13–5/16

And the funny part?
We didn’t get a notice, announcement, smoke signal, carrier pigeon… nothing. We just happened to drive by and see the sign. 😅

At this point finding road closure information feels like an Easter egg hunt.

Nothing like a surprise detour to really start the day off right.
Please plan accordingly and use alternate routes! 🚧🤣

If you saw us intermittentlyshutting down southbound Hwy 48 at 64 and wondered what was going on…no, we weren’t washing the highway just for fun.
A concrete truck dropped part of its load, creating a hazard. Crews washed it down to help prevent accidents.
Slow down and use caution in the area—we promise there are easier ways to get our attention 👍

We are looking for a local plumber that has a sewer camera? We have had our drain snaked out a few times but the problem always comes back. So we are wanting to find somebody that had a camera that could run it through our lines to the septic tank to see if our lines are separated or if there’s a partial break that is causing an issue. Would even be better if this person was really familiar with septic systems and could tell us what the problem is.

Good evening everyone!
We hope you’re enjoying the new North 48 Fire Department app (https://app.north48fire.org). We’re still learning more about how to use all of its features and look forward to sharing more updates in the coming weeks. We’re also hoping to have an Android version available soon!
Please share the app with your friends and family so they can receive important notifications about severe weather, fire danger, and other emergency information in our area.
Since many of you are setting your clocks forward tonight for Daylight Saving Time, here are a few quick safety tips if you haven’t already:
✔️ Change the batteries in your smoke detectors
✔️ Test all smoke alarms in your home
✔️ Check your carbon monoxide detectors
✔️ Make sure everyone in your home knows your fire escape plan
It only takes a few minutes, but it could save a life.

🚨 North 48 Fire Department Community App Now Available 🚨
Even though we originally planned to roll this out a little later, we decided to go ahead and launch our North 48 Fire Department App so we have a better way to communicate directly with the people in our fire district.
This app will allow us to send push notifications straight to your phone for important information such as:
🔥 Fire alerts and wildfire danger updates
⛈️ Severe weather notifications
🚧 Road hazards or emergency situations in the district
🏠 Storm shelter registration information
📢 Other important community announcements from your fire department
Our goal is to keep our community better informed and safer, especially during severe weather or high fire danger days.
We are still adding features and improving things, but we wanted to get this tool out to the community as soon as possible.
📲 Please download the app and enable notifications so you don’t miss important alerts.
We appreciate your support of the North 48 Volunteer Fire Department and everything our community does to help keep this department strong.
