A caucus will be held on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2026, at 10:00 AM CDT at IBEW Local 16 Union Hall, 9001 N. Kentucky Ave., Evansville, IN 47725, for the purpose of electing a Chair for the Indiana 8th Congressional District Democrats. The caucus will be chaired by Cheryl Schultz.

Those interested in being considered must submit a letter of interest to caucus chair, Cheryl Schultz, at [email protected] or mailed to 3831 Grassmere Lane, Evansville, IN 47725. Letters must be received by 10:00 AM CDT on Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2026. There will be no nominations from the floor or discussion.

Eligibility Requirements:
Candidates must reside in the Indiana 8th District, be a registered voter, be a member in good standing (voted Democratic in the last primary in which they voted). Please include your name, address, phone number, and email in your letter.

You won't want to miss this! One candidate really stood out to our members at State Convention this summer - Coumba. Her presence is amazing - she radiates warmth and positivity. We would love to give her a warm welcome this Wednesday at the Princeton Public Library. Come show her some love!

So for all the 8th District voters looking forward to seeing Congressman Mark Messmer live and asking him questions about his “representation” of us… sorry you were disappointed. Again.

Reports circulated last week the event will be rescheduled. We’re skeptical, but will certainly pass the news along if it is.

Eagle-eyed constituents who passed by the Vincennes Knights of Columbus this morning (just in case) found this sign instead of a packed parking lot.

Something tells us this sign gets a workout.

Oh… and PS… there’s a candidate on your November ballot who listens to 8th District residents every day.

Her name is Mary Allen.
