The first of our Alumni Spotlight series features 2d Lt Anna Hagen, who is currently a student Combat Systems Officer (CSO) at NAS Pensacola!

Active Duty Realities:
“I think what surprised me the most was how diverse the CSO career field is. CSOs do not just navigate. There is opportunity to pursue tons of different interests.”

AFROTC Foundation:
“The most valuable skill I got out of ROTC has been the leadership. The practice I got from leading people and organizing events in ROTC helps me every day, even in UCT. I am the senior ranking officer for my class. I lead a group of 19 people every day and if I hadn’t taken the opportunities in ROTC to develop that skill, I’d be lost.”

“The mindset that helps me the most as an Lt is just sticking to the basics. Showing up to work on time, studying, and working hard will often be enough to make you stand out. Instructors appreciate it when they see you putting in your max effort every day.”
