The 181st Intelligence Wing hosted the second grade students from Riley Elementary School to learn about the Air National Guard and speak with our Racers. They interacted with stations from the 19th CERFP, 181st Civil Engineering Squadron, 181st Security Forces Squadron and 113th Contingency Response Squadron.
The 19th Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Enhanced Response Force Package rotated students through hands‑on stations covering CPR, first-aid bandaging, and METIman training with realistic breath sounds, movement, and pulse checks, followed by a demonstration of our CBRNE gear and protective suits. Afterward, the classes split into four teams for a relay race designed to highlight teamwork: one student suited up in protective gear with assistance, another acted as the medic with a bump helmet and full aid bag, a third performed one round of CPR, and the final teammate applied a first-aid bandage before the group returned to the start to remove all equipment. The event emphasized how every role matters in a real-world response. Each student left with a goodie bag, stickers, and an Honorary Air Force Medic Certificate from the 181st MDG Det 1 (CERFP).
The 181st SFS and 113th CRS showcased a range of operational gear including helmets, plate carriers, battle belts, rucksacks, radios, weapons, and domestic operations equipment. They walked the students through how each piece of equipment is used, discussed their roles in the Air National Guard, and emphasized weapon safety. After a round of student questions, Airmen invited the classes to handle and explore the field equipment up close, continuing to engage and educate as students interacted with the gear.
The 181st CES gave an explanation of what civil engineering in the Air Force is before giving them an up‑close look at two of their heavy equipment vehicles. Airmen explained how CE Airmen support missions across the Air Force, then walked students through the controls and functions of each vehicle as they climbed in and out of the equipment.
