Indianaโs Waiver Changes Will Impact Real People
As a provider of Medicaid Waiver services, we have the privilege of supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities every day. We also have a responsibility to speak up when changes threaten the health, independence, and quality of life of the people we serve.
The recent amendments to Indianaโs waiver program are creating uncertainty for individuals, families, and providers across our state. Many people are facing reductions in services or the possibility of losing supports they have relied on for years.
For many, these services are not a convenienceโthey are the difference between:
โข Living safely at home or facing institutional care.
โข Having a job or losing employment.
โข Participating in their community or becoming isolated.
โข Receiving assistance with medications, meals, transportation, and daily livingโor going without.
Behind every budget decision is a real person, a real family, and a real story.
At Prime Care Residential, we believe individuals with disabilities deserve the opportunity to live meaningful, independent lives in their communities. We will continue to advocate alongside the people we serve, their families, and our fellow providers to ensure their voices are heard.
