Wabash Valley Herb Society

The WVHS is a not-for-profit corporation organized and operated for educational,
scientific and civic purposes related to herbs. The society is dedicated to educating the public about herbs and their many uses in
an attempt to live a more natural and healthful lifestyle. Many people from all walks of life are showing an interest in growing herbs as an
alternative health source. There is no other

group of plants that appeal to such diversified interests. The major fundraiser of the WVHS is our annual Spring Thyme Plant and Herb Faire. The goal again is education, but it also serves to furnish a high quality supply of herb
plants and related merchandise. This one day event features demonstrations and talks, herbal crafts, t-shirts and our
WVHS cookbooks. It currently is held at the Wabash Valley Fairgrounds, US Highwat 41 S. It is always the Saturday before Mother's Day. The money made by the WVHS underwrites special events, educational sessions, field
trips, college scholarships and donations of herbal books, videotapes, software and
periodicals to local groups, as well as donations to other non-profit groups. Community service projects include the 2003 establishment and continuing maintenance
of an educational herb garden and part of the Deming Park Gardens.
