League of Women Voters of Vigo County, IN LWV of Vigo County meets at 5:15pm on the 4th Thursday of each month usually at the Public Library. Consider becoming a member.

Dues are $50 regular member; $75 household membership; $25 student membership. Dues can be paid at any time; there is no set membership year. See FB photos for membership form, as the League is not currently maintaining a website.

With the 2026 midterm elections just two months away, voters may have questions about what to expect this election season and what changes, if any, could affect the voting process. The National Task Force on Election Crises is hosting a virtual webinar featuring election experts who will provide a nonpartisan, fact-based overview of election preparations, what voters can expect at the polls, safeguards in place to support secure elections, and how election results are certified.

A federal court granted emergency relief blocking USPS from implementing its newly finalized mail ballot rule for the November 2026 midterm elections.

On this day in 1920, the 19th Amendment was ratified, prohibiting the denial of the right to vote on the basis of s*x. The Library holds the records and library collection of the National Woman’s Party, which was instrumental in getting the legislation passed.
