The WINGS Adult Education Program of Riter C. Hulsey Public Library is seeking instructors to teach evening classes for adult learners.

Instructors Needed:

📚GED in Spanish

🗓️Class Schedule: Mondays & Wednesdays, 6:00–8:00 PM

We are looking for dependable, enthusiastic instructors who enjoy working with adult learners and can help students build the knowledge and confidence they need to succeed on the GED exam.

The City of Terrell’s Housing Department has officially moved to City Hall at 201 E. Nash Street. The entrance is located on the Adelaide Street side of the building, near the fire bay. We look forward to continuing to serve our community from our new location!

Mayor Carmona joined State Representative Keith Bell and other elected officials, representatives from partner agencies and community members for a ribbon cutting for Terrell Center for the Youth on Aug. 20 on the grounds of Terrell State Hospital. After a brief program, facility staff took attendees on a tour of the 30-bed facility, operated by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission and the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services. The center, which will officially open on Sept. 1, will provide intensive behavioral healthcare and clinical treatment for kids between 13 and 17 who are under DFPS conservatorship.

Texas Aircraft Service Center (TASC) is officially open at Terrell Municipal Airport (KTRL), celebrating its grand opening on National Aviation Day with a ribbon-cutting attended by City officials, staff, and Terrell Chamber of Commerce leadership. TASC provides full-service aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services for general aviation owners and operators across North Texas.

“We are excited you have chosen Terrell as the site of your newest location,” said Mayor Carmona. “Historically, the Terrell Municipal Airport has been one of our most underutilized assets. I, along with other members of the Council, am committed to making sure airport improvements and expansions are a top priority in the future.”

Mayor Carmona and the Terrell City Council recognized James E. Lee II, pastor of Holy Temple Church of God in Christ in Terrell, one of the oldest churches in Kaufman County, at the Aug. 18 City Council meeting. A fourth-generation servant of the church, Pastor Lee has faithfully guided the congregation with a humble heart and steadfast commitment to servant leadership. For more than 20 years, his dedication to kingdom building has fostered a spirit of faith, unity, and service throughout the community.

At the August 18 City Council meeting, Mayor Carmona and the Terrell City Council recognized the Harwell family in celebration of the renaming of the softball fields at Ben Gill Park to the Rayford Harwell Memorial Softball Complex. The renaming honors lifelong community member Rayford Harwell, a former City employee and longtime business owner, who was dedicated to serving Terrell youth through baseball and softball.
