The ropes course history at The Mountain Center (TMC) goes back decades and has been an integral part of our programming and community. Our recent Capital Campaign was to rebuild our ropes course at our Tesuque property due to the age of the poles. Our ropes course for many years has served to help people grow, believe in themselves and build resilience.

In early 2023, TMC Board of Directors took the lead in bringing awareness to community members and donors to support this project which also includes the building of a yurt on our property. The new ropes course is complete and ready to support the next generation of staff, clients and community members to scratch their boundaries and reach their goals.

If you were a donor to this project, once again, thank you! We appreciate all the help you have given us to support our mission and the communities we are serving.

For those of you who would like to be a part of this journey and adventure with us by donating, there is still time to be a part of this project. Although we met our original goal, we have had additional costs associated with this project that has exceeded the original budget. You can make the donation here at themountaincenter.org/donate/. We would greatly appreciate your support.

These are some video and photos of our old ropes course. We will soon share photos of the new ropes course.

8/14/24 - Freshman students from The Institute of American Indian Arts (IAIA) spent the day at our Tesuque location as a part of their new student orientation. They engaged in discussions around their intentions, goals and aspirations for being at IAIA as well as getting to know each other on this new path in their lives. As always, we are grateful for our partnership with IAIA entrusting us to be a part of their new student orientation. Good luck to the Freshman students of IAIA. We had an amazing and special day with you.

For TMC staff, this day meant a lot to us. This was the last group to be on the ropes course before we rebuilt it. We could not think of a better group to do this with. Thank you IAIA for being a part of this day with us. We will share more of this process of the new ropes course here soon.
