At the SBJC, we are proud to recognize Ms. Crissy Potter as our 2026 Teacher of the Year! Ms. Potter’s commitments to her students shine through in everything she does. Families describe her as a teacher who creates a classroom “where every child feels safe, valued, and excited to learn each day.”

Ms. Potter meets each student where they are, helping them grow academically, socially, and emotionally. Her classroom is filled with positivity and joy, and she works to ensure every student reaches their fullest potential. Beyond the classroom, Ms. Potter is a valued leader within our Felician and SBJC community. From organizing special events and monthly birthday breakfasts to supporting staff morale and celebrating every student victory, she leads with heart and passion. We are excited to recognize Ms. Jenn Jaslow for her incredible dedication and impact as a Speech-Language Pathologist. For 20 years, Ms. Jaslow has helped students find their voice, whether through speech, AAC devices, play-based techniques, or creative communication strategies. Her commitment to her students is evident in the progress they make year after year, and by creating a supportive therapeutic environment, her students feel empowered to communicate and succeed. Families have shared how meaningful her work has been with their child, noting the lasting impact she has had and the confidence she helps build in every student she supports.

Beyond her work with students, Jenn is a valued mentor, advocate, and collaborator within the SBJC community. She never hesitates to share her knowledge with colleagues, supports staff members across all departments, and continually seeks new ways to grow professionally in order to better serve her students. Ms. Brianna Hoehl is an extraordinary paraprofessional whose impact is felt in every corner of our Maywood campus. Each day, Brianna arrives with a smile, a positive attitude, and a readiness to support anyone in need with an energy that is infectious among both staff and students.

Her deep understanding of student needs, particularly their emotional and behavioral regulation, allows her to respond with compassion and precision. Ms. Hoehl has the incredible ability to build meaningful relationships with students, creating an environment where they feel valued and understood.
