This week was National Co-Responder and Crisis Responder Week (September 14-20). We want to take a moment to celebrate the incredible work of our Co-Response Clinicians - Katie Twomey (Tewksbury), Marissa Cameron (Billerica), and Kayla Rodrigues (Dracut). Chelmsford and Tyngsborough are also covered by all three clinicians as well.

In partnership with officers, these dedicated clinicians respond to calls involving mental health crises, substance use, and emotional distress. Not only do they de-escalate situations, but they connect individuals to vital resources and help build the bridge between law enforcement and the community. They are a reminder that public safety is not just about protection - it’s about care, understanding, and support.

Thank you ladies for your dedication to our communities!

May is Mental Health Awareness Month.

At the Tewksbury Police Department, we recognize that mental health is just as important as physical health. This month, we encourage you to check in—with yourself, with your loved ones, with your neighbors. A kind word, a listening ear, or a moment of empathy can go a long way.

Take care of yourself. Take care of each other. Give some empathy. Give some grace. And if nobody has told you today: it’s going to be okay. You matter.

We stand with our community in breaking the stigma and promoting mental wellness—today and every day.

The proposed FY26 budget would slash JDP funding by $14.2 million, jeopardizing public safety and mental health crisis response. We must act now to protect this vital program!

Contact your legislators today and urge them to restore full JDP funding to $18 million. Let's keep our communities safe and ensure individuals in crisis get the care they need.

Today, we remember and honor the lives lost to overdose. 🖤 Each black balloon represents a story, a loved one, and a life that mattered. At PAARI, we remain committed to supporting public safety agencies in providing hope and pathways to recovery.
