This weekend, the Tewksbury Community Pantry was the grateful recipient of the William F. Mackey III Memorial food drive. Bill passed away 3yrs ago at the age of 43, and his mother Mary and family honor his legacy and the passion he had for helping the homeless and hungry. This food drive resulted in a trailer worth of food donations as well as a generous financial donation. Thank you Mary and to all your family, friends and neighbors for your support!

Saturday’s Letter Carrier Food Drive turned out to be another successful & generous year! THANK YOU to everyone across town that supported our mission of “People Helping People” and helped us strengthen our inventory for future distributions. Also…a big shout-out to the 39 volunteers that came in for a good part of their weekend to help sort thru the donations. We continue to be appreciative and humbled by your support!

REMINDER…the National Association of Letter Carriers Food Drive is THIS Saturday, May 9th. You should have received a postcard and yellow plastic bag in your mail. When you fill this bag up with non-expired and non-perishable food and leave at your mailbox, your letter carrier will pick it up and deliver it to the Tewksbury Community Pantry to help us fill our shelves up to support our neighbors.

It is approaching that time of year….our largest food drive event that will stock up our pantry to support our community and clients. This May 9th is the annual Letter Carriers food drive. Be on the lookout for a yellow plastic bag that should be dropped off with your mail sometime before the 9th. You can fill that bag with non-perishable items (please be sure each item is within the freshness date) and leave it at your mailbox the the AM of the 9th, where the letter carrier will pick it up when they deliver your mail.

LOST & FOUND! While dropping of a food donation, someone dropped their keys into a bag left at the pantry. If these keys happen to be yours, please contact the TCP and arrange to pick them back up. Ideally, please bring something that matches the keys so we can confirm they belong to you.

Ironically, Ice Cream for Breakfast Day and the associated fundraising drive @ Meadowlands Ice Cream for the TCP is being postponed to 2/21…..due to….cold weather!?!? 🤣

We’re bummed to post this, but with potential significant winter weather coming overnight into tomorrow we will be closed tomorrow, Saturday 2/7.

Late notice….but….this Saturday 2/7, is National Ice Cream for Breakfast Day! Who knew?? Meadowlands Ice Cream right here in Tewksbury will be open @ 8AM to help you celebrate the occasion. If that was not enough reason to show up, they are also conducting a fundraiser on behalf of the Tewksbury Community Pantry. Please stop by, enjoy some ice cream and contribute to a great cause

The generosity of the Heath Brook Elementary School and their PAC is a blessing every year. We received over 100 grocery bags of donations during their week-long distribution drive. Thank you to all the students, teachers, parents and the PAC

As we close out 2025 and get ready for 2026, it feels like the perfect time to thank The First Baptist Church of Tewksbury, MA and St William of York Catholic Church along with their generous parishioners. Every month throughout the year we are the recipient of their kindness with abundant food donations that support our mission. Thank you very much, and wishing you all a Happy New Year!
