Earlier this week, our commander COL Denis J. Fajardo had the honor of serving as guest speaker during the Remembrance of the Fallen Memorial Day ceremony in DeKalb, Texas.

The event brought community members together to reflect on the sacrifices of the men and women who gave their lives in service to our nation. We are grateful to organizers Cindi Hickson and Robbie Bates for helping ensure the legacy of our fallen heroes continues to be remembered and honored.

Congratulations to on being named the FY26 Army Award for Maintenance Excellence winner!

The recognition highlights Red River’s leadership in readiness and sustainment, with the award package focused on the success of the depot’s Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) Fleet Expansion Program. The effort increased capacity, improved production flow, and strengthened support to the Warfighter.

Red River will now advance to compete for the FY26 Secretary of War Phoenix Award for Maintenance Excellence, the Army’s highest honor for maintenance performance and innovation.

As a follow‑up to a recent post, Red River Army Depot welcomed Sen. Ted Cruz for a visit highlighting modernization efforts and the depot’s role in supporting the Organic Industrial Base Transformation Strategy. Cruz toured an upgraded tactical vehicle repair facility and met with members of the local community and depot leadership.

This National Police Week, is proud to recognize the dedication and professionalism of our law enforcement team and to celebrate one of our own.

Sgt. CJ Yi, recently named the Department of the War John Awtrey Civilian Police Officer of the Year, received the surprise announcement during Senator Ted Cruz’s recent visit to the depot. Cruz presented the award, with Yi’s wife, Megan, stepping in as part of the surprise.

Yi, an Air Force veteran and five‑year member of , was honored for his exceptional service, leadership and commitment to the safety of our workforce.

One of the day’s photos also features Senator Cruz alongside Red River Police Officers and Texas Department of Public Safety State Troopers, highlighting the strong partnerships that help keep our region safe. The Red River Police Department continues to support surrounding communities through mutual aid, joint training, and coordinated emergency response efforts, a commitment that reflects the professionalism and readiness of our entire force.

This week and every week, we honor the officers who protect our installation, our people, and our mission. Thank you for your service, your sacrifice and your unwavering dedication to Red River Army Depot.

A full auditorium gathered at Red River Army Depot last week for the National Day of Prayer, bringing team members together in a moment of unity and reflection. Music by TJ McAlexander set the tone for the program, followed by an uplifting message from Pastor Matthew Butler of the 1st Bikers Church in Texarkana. Butler, an Air Force veteran and RRAD project coordinator, shared insights from more than two decades of ministry.

The event was led by master of ceremonies Scott Mann, with opening remarks from Chief of Staff Joe Johnson. Special thanks to our MWR staff for providing refreshments as well as our Community Support Office for hosting the event each year.

Shoutout to our Depot Commander COL Denis J. Fajardo for representing during a panel discussion at the Michigan Defense Expo. The panel featured depot and arsenal leaders joining with industry partners to discuss Organic Industrial Base modernization, innovation, and future collaboration opportunities.
