We would like to congratulate Battalion Chief/ Interim Assistant Chief Jim Wall on his graduation from the inaugural class of the Arkansas Executive Fire Officer (EFO) Program. The graduation took place at the 100th anniversary of the Arkansas Fire Convention in Hot Springs.

We were proud to participate in the Tunnel to Towers ceremony today. Such a great event. A big thanks for all who played a part in it and to our community for showing up. We will never forget.

The community is invited to attend their visit downtown and join our local first responders in honoring those who lost their lives. The exhibit will be open to the public and food will be grilled by retired New York City Fire Department (FDNY) members, Grill Team 6.

Here we come Texarkana TX! Please join us on Wed June 3rd, 11am Steel Ceremony & the Exhibit opens Noon - 2pm.

Today, we honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Their courage, selflessness, and dedication to protecting others will never be forgotten.

As we spend time with family and friends this Memorial Day, we pause to reflect on the freedoms we enjoy because of those who gave everything for them.

From all of us at the Texarkana Arkansas Fire Department, thank you to our fallen heroes and the families who carry their legacy every day.

Hands on training on ropes, knots, and rappelling are always enjoyable at the fire station. Our job is to continue learning and improving our skills throughout our career.

Sometimes our job is dealing with the unexpected. Every rescue counts and gives us an opportunity to train for those times when the stakes are higher. Our guys on A-crew today made a rescue of six small ducklings that were separated from their mother and fell in the drainage system. These guys truly demonstrate the servant part of being a public servant.

Our Firefighters are out at Kilpatrick elementary today setting up the obstacle course for the kids to learn what it takes to do the job.

TAFD would like to recognize and honor our officers at the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department on Peace Officers Memorial Day. TAPD is a professional organization that does an excellent job keeping Texarkana, AR safe for our citizens and visitors. TAPD has always had our back, or front, in any situation and we are proud to call them brothers and sisters.
