At approximately 11:45 a.m. today, your Trinity Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to the 6000 block of South State Line for a rapidly spreading grass fire. Upon arrival, firefighters found approximately one acre burning with multiple storage structures threatened. Despite the crews' efforts, one storage building was lost to the fire. With current dry conditions, fire danger is extremely high. We cannot stress enough the importance of avoiding all outdoor burning at this time. Please help keep our firefighters, first responders, and our community safe by refraining from any outdoor burning until conditions improve or further notice. We extend our sincere thanks to Liberty Eylau Fire Department, Texarkana Texas Fire Department , Mandeville Fire/Rescue , and The Arkansas Forestry Division ( Miller County Station) their vital assistance. We would also like to thank Pafford Emergency Medical Services (2326 Miller North) for standing by to ensure the safety of our crews during this incident.

🔥 Miller County is under a burn ban, & it takes all of us working together to prevent fires.

Do you know what a burn ban does, what open burning is, or what’s actually banned during a burn ban? Read below or check out the graphic for more information.

What exactly does a burn ban do?
A burn ban is usually issued by the county judge due to extremely dry weather conditions.
This means that all open outdoor burning is banned until further notice in an effort to lessen the likelihood of fires.

What exactly is open burning?
Open burning is any burning where smoke goes directly into the air instead of through a chimney or stack first.
Open burning during extremely dry weather conditions can increase the number of fires & lead to hotter fires that spread very fast, making them harder to extinguish.

Banned burn examples?
The following are some examples of burning that is currently banned:
• Fireworks
• Burn barrels
• Campfires / fire pits
• Yard / brush burning
• Open flame grilling

Make sure to stay safe & be smart — don’t park on dry grass, don’t let trailer chains drag, pour water on lit ci******es instead of stomping them out, & be careful of doing work that throws sparks.
