I’ve received several phone calls today wanting to know if the courthouse is open and the answer is yes! 😃 We now have all doors open for easy access to our offices. We are still asking that you please maintain a social distance from other taxpayers. We also have hand sanitizer stations set up throughout the 1st floor of the courthouse. For your convenience I have set out the drop box in our lobby. If you don’t want to wait in line you can drop your payment in the box and we will mail you a receipt. I’m asking that no money be left in the Dropbox and please write your name and phone number on the outside of your envelope. Thank you all so much for your patience during this time.

Everyone please prepare now for this storm.
08/26/2020

Everyone please prepare now for this storm.

OEM met with the NWS, Red Cross, area school districts, emergency responders, and road depts as well as 911 dispatch centers. I have prepared a media release on Hurricane Laura. We can expect winds to pick up tonight and be around 20 mph by 7am, increasing to 55 mph in the afternoon and then 68 mph by late evening Thursday. A flash flood is in effect until Friday morning at 7am, but may be extended or upgraded to a watch. We might expect wind gusts to reach 90 mph so trees will topple. The Red Cross advised congregate shelter locations may be available after the storm as passed, they will need to assess some damage and livable conditions. If you are displaced, please call 1-800-REDCROSS so the Red Cross can get an idea of what areas to open. Remember, the COVID pandemic has placed restrictions on shelters. Locally, the LifeHouse Church can open if needed and there are two safe rooms in Texarkana, AR. The City of Fouke may open First Baptist Church. Emergency officials urge people not to wait until the storm arrives, rather to make accommodations now with family and friends for the next couple of days. Please use common sense and prepare now. 1st Responders will be extremely busy for the next 24-48 hrs so don't wait on someone to arrive later when you can prepare now. TASD, Genoa, UAHT have closed or opted for virtual classes. Fouke ISD is unknown at this time. If you have students in these districts, you should or may have received an alert.

Good morning! As a reminder our courthouse is open 😃 However, if you need to pay your taxes, assess or get car tags but don't want to leave home you don't have to. Simply go to www.millercollector.com and click on the "Links" tab. There you will find links to everything you need to renew your vehicle registration.
A new feature that has been added to the website is Reports. Every month I will upload a Collection Summary that list what Miller County Collector's office has collected for the previous month. In this report you can see how much is distributed to each taxing entity. It is separated into current and delinquent taxes collected. You'll notice on the delinquent report it list multiple years, sometimes going back as far as 2010. That is because our office has been working diligently to collect on delinquencies.
If you have any questions or if you need help navigating the website please feel free to call our office and myself or one of my staff will be glad to assist you. Our phone number is 870-774-1001
