Through the support of our grantors, DVP is fortunate to have a dedicated outreach team focused on community education and awareness. Our team is available to participate in local events, particularly those that benefit causes aligned with domestic violence and sexual assault awareness.

We would be honored to be invited to any upcoming charity events, fundraisers, or community gatherings where our outreach team could:

-Share information about the services and support we provide

-Connect with individuals who may benefit from our programs

-Help raise awareness about domestic violence and sexual assault resources in our community

Last week, our Sexual Assault Program Coordinator had the opportunity to attend the TAASA Conference hosted by Texas Association Against Sexual Assault in Conroe.

This conference provided valuable education, resources, and collaboration opportunities with advocates and professionals from across the state who are committed to supporting survivors and strengthening services in our communities.

We are grateful for opportunities like this that allow our team to continue learning, growing, and bringing back knowledge that helps us better serve those impacted by sexual violence.

Today is Denim Day and our staff is showing their support! This international campaign encourages people to wear jeans as a visible means of protest against harmful misconceptions surrounding sexual assault. It serves as a day of action and awareness to combat victim-blaming and to show solidarity with survivors of sexual violence worldwide.

We had our very first Bowie County Sexual Assault Response Team meeting yesterday and it was a success. Thank you again to Christus St. Michael for hosting us. 🤍

Bringing together professionals who are all committed to supporting survivors in a more coordinated, compassionate, and effective way is something we’re incredibly proud to be a part of. This is just the beginning, and we’re excited to see the impact this team will have in our community. 💫
