We are proud to recognize Chance Ray for a Positive Bus Referral.

Chance was recognized for demonstrating outstanding behavior and making positive choices while riding the bus. We are so proud of the way he represented Morriss Elementary by showing respect, responsibility, and kindness.

The good news never ends for Morriss Elementary. Congratulations to our amazing TLC afterschool program for this outstanding achievement! ⭐️

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ FOUR STARS FOR MORRISS TIGER LEARNING CENTER! We have BIG news to celebrate! 🎉 Morriss Tiger Learning Center has officially earned the highest-level Four-Star certification through the Texas Rising Star program!

Following an assessment on August 13, Morriss received an overall FOUR-STAR rating, including four stars in:

⭐ Director & Staff Qualifications and Training
⭐ Teacher-Child Interactions
⭐ Program Administration

But those stars represent so much more than a rating. They represent the warm welcomes, patient conversations, meaningful learning experiences, dedicated educators, and nurturing environment our children experience every day. 🧡

Evaluators saw our teachers doing what they do best, listening to children, giving them choices, encouraging conversations, responding to their individual needs, and creating classrooms where children feel safe, valued, supported, and excited to learn.

A special congratulations to Jennifer Treadway, Director of Childcare Services; Debra Morrison, Morriss Tiger Learning Center Supervisor; and the entire Morriss Tiger Learning Center team for their commitment to our youngest Tigers and their families.

Four Stars. The highest designation. One incredible Tiger team. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Math just got a whole lot more interactive at Morriss!

Mrs. Morriss has wasted no time getting her 3rd grade math students engaged with our campus’s NEW interactive Smart Boards! Students are working together, solving problems, showing their thinking, and putting their math skills into action.

We love seeing our Tigers learning in a hands-on, collaborative way while taking advantage of technology that makes learning even more engaging!

At Morriss, we’re building strong learners for the future! 🧡🖤

We are so excited to celebrate our very FIRST positive bus referral of the school year!

We are shouting out the BIG news!!! Morriss Elementary is ecstatic about Region 8 Education Service Center’s selection of Mrs. Nolen as their teacher of the year. Excellent choice!!! Way to go, Mrs. Nolen. 🧡

🏆 REGION 8 ELEMENTARY TEACHER OF THE YEAR! 🏆 Congratulations to Lauren Nolen, fourth-grade science teacher at Martha and Josh Morriss Mathematics and Engineering Elementary School, on being named the Region 8 Elementary Teacher of the Year! 🎉

Mrs. Nolen brings science to life through hands-on learning, creativity, technology, and discovery, but her greatest impact goes far beyond academics. She makes her students feel seen, supported, challenged, and capable every single day.

From mentoring fellow educators to building strong relationships with students and families, Mrs. Nolen represents the very best of what it means to be a Tiger educator.

As Morriss Elementary Principal Patti O’Bannon shared, “She is the kind of teacher every parent hopes their child will have and every school district hopes to keep.” 🧡

Mrs. Nolen will be formally recognized by the Region 8 Education Service Center on September 2, and we could not be more excited to celebrate her!
