The Thayer Fire Department now has a certified Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST) available to assist families in keeping their children safe in motor vehicles.

Our CPST can help with:
• Correct car seat installation
• Harness fit
• Rear-facing/forward-facing questions and transition
• Booster seat readiness
• Transitioning from a booster to the vehicle seat belt
• General car seat questions

A few important notes:
1. Our CPST will teach you how to properly use and install your seat rather than installing it for you.
2. Checks are educational and focused on best practices and car seat/vehicle manufacturer instructions.

This resource is available by appointment to anyone in Thayer or the surrounding area.
