One year ago today, the 47th Precinct lost one of our own. Detective First Grade Didarul Islam made the ultimate sacrifice while protecting New Yorkers, leaving behind a legacy of courage, compassion, and unwavering dedication to service.

He was more than a member of this command; he was our brother, a devoted son, a loving father, a trusted colleague, and a friend whose impact continues to be felt throughout the 47th Precinct.

Today, we honor his life, remember his sacrifice, and reaffirm that his legacy will forever remain a part of the community he proudly served and the command he called home.

During a recent enforcement operation, NYPD officers issued 50 summonses, while DSNY tagged 18 vehicles for removal. A total of 48 vehicles were rotated, four were removed by NYPD Traffic, and two stolen vehicles were recovered. These coordinated efforts help improve public safety and quality of life throughout our community. Thank you to all of our partner agencies and the dedicated personnel whose teamwork made this operation a success.
