It is with profound sadness that we share the news of the passing of our colleague, Johnny Medina, EMT, who died unexpectedly last evening, October 19, 2026, at the age of 27.

Johnny joined SeniorCare EMS in July 2023. In his time with us, he served our patients and communities across Core and 911 operations, and was recently assigned to Brooklyn Logistics. He was a valued member of our team, and his dedication and care for others will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of working alongside him.

On behalf of the entire SeniorCare EMS family, we extend our heartfelt sympathy to Johnny’s family, friends, and all who knew and loved him. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time.

We know this news is painful for many of us. Please look out for one another.

More support is now on the road for Sullivan County. 🚑

As our Sullivan County program celebrates its second anniversary, we’re proud to recognize the SeniorCare EMS personnel whose hard work and dedication continue to move this operation forward.

The program’s latest addition is a BLS ambulance that will be in service 24 hours a day, augmenting the existing BLS and two ALS fly car resources supporting the county.

Twenty-five years ago this Friday, September 11, 2001, changed our city and our profession forever.

Thousands of innocent lives were lost that day, and hundreds of emergency service providers never came home. In the twenty-five years since, we have lost hundreds more: men and women who worked in the aftermath and are still, today, paying the price for that service. The tragedy of 9/11 did not end that morning. For too many in our profession, it continues.

A new generation of pre-hospital providers is now entering our workforce, many with no memory of that day, some born after it happened. We owe it to everyone we have lost, then and since, to preserve their memory and make sure this history is never forgotten.

We will never forget.
